As Teddy's seventh birthday approaches, he is hoping he gets a kitten for one of his birthday presents. On his birthday, he receives several presents including the kitten. But to his surprise, this was not an ordinary kitten. After his birthday party ends, he goes outside to play with his kitten. Just before he goes to bed that evening, he notices his kitten is nowhere to be found. The next day, he, his mom, and his friend check several local places looking for his kitten. As the story progresses and different locations are checked for the kitten, Teddy continues to be very sad about his new lost pet.
