This book examines the much-debated question of how to unleash the potential of young people with promising intellectual abilities and motivation. It looks at the increasingly important topic of excellence in education, and the shift in focus towards the provision of programs to support talented students in higher education. It provides a systematic overview of programs for talented students at northern European higher education institutions (HEIs). Starting in the Netherlands, where nearly all HEIs have developed honors programs over the past two decades, the book explores three clusters of countries: the Benelux, the Nordic and the German-speaking countries. For each of these countries, it discusses the local culture towards excellence, the structure of the education system, and the presence of honors programs. In total, the book reviews the special talent provisions for nearly four million students at 303 higher education institutions in eleven countries. In addition, it offers an analysis of the reasons to develop such programs, a look into the future of honors education and a practical list of suggestions for further research.The Sirius Program assigned Marca Wolfensberger to carry out this research.

Mosquitoes are surviving on earth since millions of years, have always given tough time to men as important carriers of various diseases. People fights globally against mosquitoes and mosquito borne diseases. Malaria, dengue, filaria, Japanese encephalitis, west nile virus and chikungunia are the major diseases spread globally by different mosquito. These diseases challenge the developed and developing countries of the world for irradication. Mosquitoes are very well recognized as vectors of protozoan, viruses and other pathogenic organisms. It is well known also that under the influence of environmental conditions a vector species may show changes in the seasonal distribution in the same area of dominance. The increase in density of a vector species is very much dependent on climatological factors favorable for its breeding, and adult survival. Aedes aegypti and Ae. albopictus are two well known vectors of dengue in India. Ae. aegypti is vector in the urban area and semi rural, which was originally introduced in India from Africa.

Das Gesundheitswesen und die Zahnmedizin k nnten durch k nstliche Intelligenz (KI) ver ndert werden. In letzter Zeit ist ein gro es Interesse an der Entwicklung von KI-Anwendungen zu verzeichnen. Aufgrund ihrer Kompatibilit t mit Bildverarbeitungsmethoden f llt die dentomaxillofaziale Radiologie (DMFR) in den Bereich dieser Anwendungen. Zu den Studien, die unter Verwendung radiologischer Bilder durchgef hrt werden, geh ren die Klassifizierung und Segmentierung von Z hnen, die automatische Markierung anatomischer Strukturen und die kephalometrische Analyse, die Bestimmung von fr hen Zahnerkrankungen, Zahnfleisch, Parodontalerkrankungen und Risikogruppen sowie die Diagnose bestimmter Krankheiten wie Osteoporose, die in R ntgenbildern des Kiefers erkannt werden k nnen. Die KI-Forschung wird in Zukunft einen wichtigen Beitrag zur DMFR leisten. Ziel dieses Buches ist es, die neuesten KI-basierten Studien auf dem Gebiet der DMFR zu diskutieren.

Grazie alla sua compatibilit con i metodi di elaborazione delle immagini, la radiologia dentomaxillofacciale (DMFR) rientra nell'ambito di queste applicazioni. Healthcare and dentistry could be transformed by artificial intelligence (AI). There has recently been a lot of interest in the development of AI applications. Because of its compatibility with image processing methods, dentomaxillofacial radiology (DMFR) falls under the purview of these applications. Among the studies conducted using radiological images are classification and segmentation of teeth, automatic marking of anatomical structures and cephalometric analysis, determination of early dental diseases, gingival, periodontal diseases and risk groups, diagnosis of certain diseases, such as osteoporosis that can be detected in jaw radiographs. AI research will make significant contributions to DMFR in the future. The goal of this book is to discuss the most recent AI-based studies in the field of DMFR.

Software-Defined Networks (SDN) offer enhanced network management and control, but also introduce new security vulnerabilities. This book presents a comprehensive approach for intrusion detection in SDN environments, combining Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) for secure data transmission with a hybrid machine learning model for accurate attack classification. The system utilizes the Curve25519-Dalek-Hash (CDH) key exchange protocol to encrypt sensitive network data, ensuring confidentiality and integrity. A hybrid model integrating XG Boost and Light GBM algorithms is employed for efficient and accurate attack detection. The proposed system is evaluated on a real-world SDN dataset, demonstrating high accuracy and efficiency in identifying malicious activities.
