Anne-Marie ...a Child of God - She was here for a short time only, leaving a legacy of wondrous and faithbuilding experiences from before conception to beyond death - even in the face of her heart problems. This account of her life is enriched with Scripture quotes and comes with an implicit invitation to respond..."I have never read anything so clear and so beautiful in its simplicity...It moves me to tears ...I have never read the Bible, but you have brought me closer." (Sue Fownes)
Anne and Charles: Passion and Politics in Late Medieval France
When Anne of Brittany's father dies in 1488, the eleven-year-old beauty becomes Duchess of Brittany, her country's ruler. For the next three years, the orphaned, unmarried young duchess is relentlessly pursued by suitors while Brittany is invaded by France, its larger, more powerful neighbor. With no other way out, at age fourteen she agrees to marry King Charles VIII of France, in order to save her country. Better to be a queen than a prisoner... Unexpectedly, a passionate relationship ensues. Yet Charles cannot shake the bad habits he has brought into their marriage, and Anne cannot help him in his darkest area of struggle. Together, they introduce the wonders of the Italian Renaissance to France, building one of Europe's most glorious 15th-century courts at their royal residence in Amboise, in the heart of the Loire Valley. But year after year they fail to achieve the most important aim they must accomplish in order to secure the future of their kingdom. As they desperately attempt to make their shared dream come true, an unexpected twist of fate irrevocably changes the fortunes of both Anne and Charles. Anne & Charles is Book One of the Anne of Brittany Series, the tale of the only woman in history to be twice-crowned queen of France. Publishers Weekly says "comparable titles are Philippa Gregory's Plantagenet and Tudor Novels." (Booklife, April 23, 2018)

Refuge Of My Weary Soul: Selected Works of Anne Steele
Born in 1717 to a prosperous family in the United Kingdom, Anne Steele spent her life in cheerful devotion to her father's lay pastorate, various friendships, and her prolific religious writings. Her hymns, poems, and psalms-once well known and featured in early-nineteenth-century hymnals-have sadly receded to the background of modern worship. But in Refuge of My Weary Soul: The Collected Works of Anne Steele, believers of all ages and backgrounds will find the perfect devotional and worship guide. At the crux of her writing is the reality of sustaining faith despite difficulty-a timelessly relevant theme that resonates with all generations.Alex Webster edited and compiled Steele's works with the intent of retaining the original meter of the hymns and has ordered Steele's other works in a format accessible to today's readers. The result is the recapturing of some of the eighteenth century's most heartfelt and beloved religious writings. The formative dimension of worship goes without saying. These refreshingly honest expressions of hope and faith amid one woman's struggles with various issues-including serious health problems-will inspire you to see the beauty and blessing that come from running with patience the race that is this Christian life.

Anne Severn and the Fieldings (Esprios Classics)
May Sinclair was the pseudonym of Mary Amelia St. Clair (24 August 1863 - 14 November 1946), a popular British writer who wrote about two dozen novels, short stories and poetry. She was an active suffragist, and member of the Woman Writers' Suffrage League. She once dressed up as a demure, rebel Jane Austen for a suffrage fundraising event. Sinclair was also a significant critic in the area of modernist poetry and prose, and she is attributed with first using the term 'stream of consciousness' in a literary context, when reviewing the first volumes of Dorothy Richardson's novel sequence Pilgrimage (1915-1967), in The Egoist, April 1918.

The Shakespeare family occupies five gravesites on the chancel steps at Holy Trinity Church in Stratford-upon-Avon. Anne Shakespeare's grave is the only one commemorated with a brass plaque and an epitaph in original Latin poetry, eulogizing her as a beloved mother, pious woman, and 'so great a gift'. For nearly four hundred years, this epitaph has remained largely unreadable to visitors, enabling a long history of undervaluing Anne's significant maternal role in the Shakespeare family. Anne Shakespeare's Epitaph offers a new reading of the content and the related material conditions and interpersonal connections behind this text. It provides new evidence about the identity of the engraver and suggests several possible scenarios for how the Shakespeare family came to memorialize Anne as a cherished maternal figure. This Element reinscribes the original significance of Anne's epitaph, and reclaims it as an important Shakespearean text that offers traces of a lost documentary record.
