In dieser Zeit wurden wertvolle CBCT-Daten ber die 3D-Morphologie des kraniofazialen Bereichs bei Gesundheit und Krankheit, ber Behandlungsergebnisse und ber die Wirksamkeit der CBCT bei der Diagnose und Behandlungsplanung gesammelt. Obwohl sich die CBCT immer gr erer Beliebtheit erfreut, wird ihr Einsatz derzeit in F llen empfohlen, in denen die klinische Untersuchung, erg nzt durch eine konventionelle R ntgenaufnahme, keine zufriedenstellenden diagnostischen Informationen liefern kann. Dies gilt bisher f r impaktierte Z hne, CL/P und Patienten mit orthognatischer oder kraniofazialer Chirurgie. Die CBCT kann auch bei anderen F llen durchgef hrt werden, wenn ein positives Nutzen-Risiko-Verh ltnis zu erwarten ist, z. B. bei berz hligen Z hnen, bei der Erkennung von Wurzelresorption durch nicht durchgebrochene Z hne, bei der Beurteilung von Randbedingungen, Kiefergelenksdegeneration und progressiven Bissver nderungen sowie bei der Platzierung von TADs in komplexen Situationen. Auf der Grundlage von Forschungsergebnissen wird Kieferorthop den empfohlen, bei der Verordnung von R ntgenaufnahmen, einschlie lich CBCT-Scans, ihr bestes klinisches Urteilsverm gen einzusetzen.
