"Vi mai capitato di chiedervi almeno una volta nella vita, se l'esperienza che state vivendo dal giorno della vostra nascita fino a questo istante, sia realmente vostra? E non mi riferisco solo al mondo in s per s che i nostri sensi ci fanno apparire come tangibile, ma soprattutto al mondo psicologico unico e irripetibile che vi contraddistingue, al vostro credere di esserci dentro, al vostro credere di essere voi..."

G.E. Moore, more than either Bertrand Russell or Ludwig Wittgenstein, was chiefly responsible for the rise of the analytic method in twentieth-century philosophy. This selection of his writings shows Moore at his very best. The classic essays are crucial to major philosophical debates that still resonate today. Amongst those included are:* A Defense of Common Sense* Certainty* Sense-Data* External and Internal Relations* Hume's Theory Explained* Is Existence a Predicate?* Proof of an External WorldIn addition, this collection also contains the key early papers in which Moore signals his break with idealism, and three important previously unpublished papers from his later work which illustrate his relationship with Wittgenstein.

This book on the Ten Core Values of Neighborhood Ministries serves to tell our specific story. We desired to codify the contribution our work makes to the body of Christ and to its kingdom mission; to keep focused on Jesus, the kingdom of God and service to the poor in our city. This book is designed to give those leaders who develop at Neighborhood Ministries the tools to carry on, to stay the course, to bear the calling, to protect what has been entrusted, to pass on clearly what has been given to you. Though it could be argued that our core values are discussed frequently and are in the "air we breathe," I learned long ago that though more is caught than taught, we need words to describe what we are catching. This booklet is structured in a particular way. The first chapter contains the biblical and theological foundations of the work out of which the core values emanate. The next ten chapters are given to the values, each chapter tackling one. And each chapter has three parts. The first part has to do with how the value lives at Neighborhood and its biblical and theological underpinnings with stories to illustrate. Then each chapter has a way in which the work of the grace of God informs that value. The third part has some spiritual direction that helps us live that value; this part will be found in the back of the booklet in an appendix.
The Gifted Trap E.M.E.R.G.E. from Gifted to Great
The Gifted Trap is a revealing exploration into the world of gifted and talented adults who are living "less than" lives. It brings into focus a widely-experienced yet rarely-talked-about-phenomenon of people trapped in emotional quicksand. You may be hidden behind a perfect (or possibly a not-so-perfect) facade, longing for a sense of freedom that allows you to simply BE YOU. Written from the heart of a multi-talented daughter of a Tuskegee Airman, born into a family of trailblazers and high-achievers, Anne felt she had big shoes to fill. She lived a trapped existence holding herself back with tentative reins, as do many children from gifted families. Until she took a leap of faith, stepped out saying YES without knowing HOW; only KNOWING that wings would be grown as she began to SOAR. Along her journey she encountered real people from all walks of life, struggling with self-doubt and feelings of inadequacy. Many shared how at times they "play small", or "live scared" fearful of alienation and abandonment. They sometimes self-sabotage or settle for mediocrity rather than reach their full potential. Often they have feelings of "I'm not good enough", "I don't matter", or simply wonder how to live up to and into expectations that result from three influencers that can limit and trap you emotionally. These perceptions, beliefs and judgments (PB&Js(R)) that are imposed on you by others or yourself have the power to control your life. Either you learn to manage them or they will manage you. This eye-opening book illuminates a new perspective. As Anne shares her truth, you're inspired to "realize, with your real eyes - the eyes of your soul"(R) - how to step unapologetically into your greatness, leave your legacy, and E.M.E.R.G.E. from gifted to great (TM) Internationally recognized author and speaker, Anne Palmer, is a clarity expert as well as a leadership and communication strategist to gifted and talented adults. The former Emmy-Award winning talk show host, corporate spokesperson and non-profit executive now uses the gifts of her voice, sage-like intuitive wisdom and mentoring skills to transform those she touches.

In this practical guide for relief during grief, Dr. James C. Wade, Jr. and Mrs. Ella Wade embody "One Flesh" as Husband and Wife. They have passed through the most fierce fires and most overwhelming waters of grief. Yet, through the fire, they have not been burned, and through overwhelming waters, God has not suffered them to drown. Instead, this experienced power-couple deals with grief in the most practical ways as they identify and help the reader process the almost unbearable pains of grief. Most of all, this workbook highlights ways those who are experiencing grief can experience the presence and power of God in the midst of the pain. Death is a subject most of humanity either fear or fail to deal with in a way that brings healing out of the greatest hurts and deliverance from the deepest darkness. Therefore, Dr. J. C. Wade, Jr. and Mrs. Ella Wade stand by the side of the reader in a paraclectic way and walk each reader through the powerful process of grief. Most of all, their lives are a living testimony that "You Can Make It " - "Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time, He said, 'My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.' Now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me." - I Corinthians 12:8-9
