Abbazia benedettina di Viboldone, luglio 2018. La violenta aggressione a suor Monica porta il commissario Marcella Randi indietro di circa settecento anni, attraverso la lettura di un manoscritto di quell'epoca. Tra le sue righe, forse, ci sono indizi e riferimenti per la cattura del malvivente. Quell'antico libro sembra essere il diario privato di un ricco possidente con la passione per le investigazioni. Il manoscritto, i cui eventi risalgono al XIV secolo, parla, attraverso la "voce" di quest'uomo, delle sue indagini, non ufficiali, su un caso molto complesso: due omicidi e una morte sospetta e tre croci d'oro con rubini incastonati, proprio come quella rubata a suor Monica, durante l'aggressione. Oltre ai fatti narrati, il libro ricco di dettagli in merito alle interessanti, e talora moderne, considerazioni e metodi di quell'uomo di settecento anni fa. Al suo fianco c' un altro personaggio di spicco, una donna... Gli eventi in esso narrati si svolgono nei pressi di Urbino, nel monastero di San Pietro in Cagli e nelle zone del contado circostante, sotto l'allora giurisdizione dei duchi di Montefeltro. La risoluzione del caso porta Marcella Randi a considerare come davvero, fin troppo spesso, fatti e persone non sono quello che sembrano. === COSA DICONO BLOGGER E SCRITTORI ==_ == PRIMO GIUDIZIO ===Un giallo insolito, in cui intrighi e depistaggi sono il comune denominatore di un'avvincente storia di misteri che, affondando le radici in un remoto passato, riemergono sorprendentemente ai giorni nostri.Una trama che si sviluppa su due differenti piani temporali, dove la parte medioevale ha il sopravvento, dando inizialmente la sensazione di scorrere le pagine di un poliziesco storico con caratteristiche che lo rendono quasi atemporale. S , perch i fatti e soprattutto i personaggi descritti potrebbero ben collocarsi in una qualsiasi epoca, primi fra tutti i due protagonisti, le cui personalit risultano molto ben delineate: Messer Bernardo da Rogoredo, un cavaliere con doti da moderno investigatore e conoscenze da anatomopatologo, e la badessa Cecilia, che mostra talenti tali da rendere il personaggio plausibile in ogni epoca.Questa parte, accattivante e coinvolgente, dalle belle ambientazioni e ricca di colpi di scena, si alterna, intersecandosi, con i tempi odierni, dove il commissario Marcella Randi dovr cercare di dare un senso agli eventi narrati in un antico manoscritto, per venire a capo di una serie di avvenimenti delittuosi in cui viene a trovarsi coinvolta con un'indagine ufficiosa e personale. Anche se alcuni aspetti possono sembrare eccessivi, la realt ci insegna che l'improbabile comunque possibile.Sorprendente la conclusione, forse parzialmente intuibile, in cui emergono i legami tra i vari personaggi del presente e quelli del passato, con un ultimo ennesimo colpo di scena quando tutto sembra oramai chiarito.Qualche piccolo anacronismo nella parte medioevale, ma sicuramente non rilevante ai fini del risultato. In de dertiger jaren begon in de Sovjetunie de politieke reactie, die in de massale repressie zich heeft geuit. Het land was bevangen door angst. De jaren van repressie vermorzelden of vernietigden miljoenen mensen. En indien je een buitenlander was, en nog wel partijlid, niet zomaar iemand maar een persoon met een leidende positie, was het al bijna onmogelijk om een arrestatie te ontlopen. De Hollanders die toen in het Sovjet-Unie woonden liepen een re el gevaar om in de molens van de tijd vermalen te worden. Gelukkig heeft Marcella van die vreselijke tijd weinig gemerkt - ze was te jong, en wat het meest telde is dat haar gezin door het noodlot werd gespaard. Het zal wel nooit bekend worden welke beschermengel dit gezin in die verschrikkelijke jaren heeft behoed.Maar de zware jaren waren nog niet voorbij. De Tweede Wereldoorlog brak uit. Het land ging gebukt onder nieuwe beproevingen. Vier lange jaren streed de hele bevolking uit alle macht tegen de vijand. De strijd verliep niet alleen aan de frontlinies, ook in het achterland gaven de mensen hun uiterste krachten aan het arbeidersfront voor de overwinning. Volkomen uitgeput en geveld door een zware ziekte ging ook het hoofd van het gezin Koos J. Visch heen.In dat land, in dat gezin groeide de bescheiden, compromisloze en onbuigzame Marcella op. Na alles wat ze doorgemaakt had aan beproevingen en offers, bombardementen en honger, na het zware werk in haar tienerjaren, had ze haar warmte en haar vertrouwen in de mensheid niet verloren.Marcella zegt: "Ik houd heel veel van het Russische volk En van het Hollandse volk niet minder Beide landen zijn me even dierbaar Ze hebben me allebei ongelooflijk veel geschonken.
