Tales of Peter Scopes: Told by his brother Roger
Peter Scopes was born in India in 1928, the first son of Wilfred and Edith Scopes, missionaries serving with the London Missionary Society. After schooling in India and England, and a Maths degree at Cambridge, he served as a teacher in the United States for a year and then for 15 years in Tanganyika /Tanzania, before returning to teacher training in England. This booklet tells stories of his life's experiences gleaned by his brother Roger over the last couple of years since the death of Jennifer, Peter's wife on December 9th, 2012. It is not a formal biography, but is written for the entertainment of Peter's children and grandchildren and great grandchildren, but also for the interest of the wider Scopes family, the families of Peter's brothers and his cousins.
