It's Time for the John Doe Party!: We Can No Longer Count on Republicans for Heavy Lifting
On Mayday, 2017, the Republican Party showed that the will of regular people in the Party mattered not an iota. Republican elite leadership once again turned over the control of the budget to the Democrats. Hard as it is to believe, the truth is more difficult to assimilate than the fake news. Ant-leftists, conservatives, nationalists, and populists and regular Americans for America, who might very well be described simply as Trump voters and loyalists learned a bitter lesson again watching Republican Party leaders give it up for the opposition party. We need a representative party that we can count on. That representation has not been delivered by the weak-kneed, elitist establishment Republican leadership. In the first budget submission of the Trump Administration, they found our backs and stabbed us again. This book describes the values that are no longer important to Republicans and offers a John Doe American solution so that the one-time Party of Lincoln is no longer important to everyday John Does. This book delivers a comprehensive rationale for why the Republican Party must be abandoned in favor of a brand new American Party that we would go well with the name The John Doe Party. The John Doe Party will soon be the rallying party for all the nobodies in America who love America. Gary Cooper and Frank Capra would call us all "John Does." The John Doe Party needs to replace the Republican Party. We do not need a Party that cannot be trusted?Americans believed we threw out the swamp with Donald Trump's election yet, the elite establishment Republicans did not get the message. For example, anybody working on an Omnibus solution regarding the 2017 budget would have designed it for a better America. Republicans unfortunately are way too happy with Obamacare light, the baby killing Planned Parenthood, living without a secure Southern Wall, and the many other dictates imposed from donors and Republican Party elites who cannot understand the people's trust in President Trump. The John Doe Party is the best choice for regular Americans. The immortal Gary Cooper would never let us down.

This Element examines language, power and intersex variations within clinician accounts in Hong Kong, examining how they communicate about intersex traits to patients and their families. Employing interactional sociolinguistics, the research analyses clinician interviews as dynamic social interactions, focusing on how communicative stances are negotiated and social practices are enacted. The Element probes the influence of biopower on clinicians' stances (encompassing gender, sexual difference, racialization and ableism) and explores the possibilities of emancipation from these biopolitical constraints. Findings highlight the tension between medical structuring forces and the formation of intersex subjects and bodies, impacting their autonomy and livability. Gender is relevant as both a power system and a lived reality, critical for understanding the bioregulation of innate sex characteristics and advancing broader implications for gender and language studies and healthcare communication. This research challenges gender-sceptical discourses and highlights the transformative potential of gender frameworks in medical and social contexts.

The Framing Text in Early Modern English Drama

The Framing Text in Early Modern English Drama

Though individual prologues and epilogues have been treated in depth, very little scholarship has been published on early modern framing texts as a whole. The Framing Text in Early Modern English Drama fills a gap in the literature by examining the origins of these texts, and investigating their growing importance and influence in the theatre of the period. This topic-led discussion of prologues and epilogues deals with the origins of these texts, the difficulty of definition, and the way in which many prologues and epilogues appear to interact on such subjects as the composition of the theatre audience and the perceived place of women in such an audience. Author Brian Schneider also examines the reasons for, and the evidence leading to, the apparently sudden burgeoning of these texts after the Restoration, when prologues and epilogues grace nearly all the dramas of the time and become a virtual cottage industry of their own. The second section-a comprehensive list of prologues and epilogues-details play titles, playwrights, theatres and theatre companies, first performance and the earliest edition in which the framing text(s) appears. It quotes the first line of the prologue and/or epilogue and uses the printer's signature to denote the page on which the texts can be found. Further information is provided in notes appended to the relevant entry. A final section deals with 'free-floating' and 'free-standing' framing texts that appear in verse collections, manuscripts, and other publications and to which no play can be positively ascribed. Combining original analysis with carefully compiled, comprehensive reference data, The Framing Text in Early Modern English Drama provides a genuinely new angle on the drama of early modern England.

Ever since high school, Brian W. McClain has worked in children's ministry. After nearly two decades of training up the next generation of believers, however, he began to realize that most of the children and preteens he taught knew many of the individual teachings of the Bible without understanding the singular message of its story. The standard quarterly format that is used in so many churches served to instruct about individual concepts and lessons but lacked a unified thread to help students grasp how everything fit together. This devotional was born out of that realization. First shared as a weekly audio blog on his personal website, www.Geographist.com, and later made available on various podcast platforms, this book is ideal for the young believer who wants to put together the pieces of God's story, for the new Christian who wants to better understand God's Word, and for the teacher who wants to share the Bible with students as a single book.

TRY (FREE for 14 days), OR RENT this title: www.wileystudentchoice.com Europe is the second-smallest of the continents, yet it is the third most populated—and its rich history has played out on the world's maps for centuries. The region's borders have undergone near-continuous evolution through the rise and fall of nations, rebellions, and civilizations, and the paths these borders take have repercussions around the globe. This book presents a systematic survey of Europe and individual country-by-country coverage based on the most current data. From the core of the European Union to the lesser-known corners of the continent, this book provides in-depth examination of the physical, cultural, economic, and political geography of this powerful region. Fresh perspective sheds new light on recent events including Brexit, Russia's takeover of Crimea, terrorist attacks in France, and the EU's newest members, while the European Union's future is explored in light of the possible loss of the region's second-largest economy. With deep insight into each nation and its relationship to the region, this book offers a uniquely intimate look at the various dynamics shaping Europe today.

Just in time for 2012. Take a nostalgic look back at a previous "end of the world" with SURVIVING Y2K. "THOUSANDS OF PLANES WILL FALL FROM THE SKY " "NUCLEAR MISSILES WILL LAUNCH THEMSELVES " "THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES, AS WE KNOW IT, WILL FALL ON JANUARY 1, 2000 " WERE THE DOOMSAYERS RIGHT? The doomsayers were wrong about the effect of the "millennium computer bug" on society, but Brian W. Fairbanks was right about the bigger bugs of big business, big government, the media, and religious extremists. Now, this underground classic, originally published in 1999, is back. UNCUT UNCENSORED EVERY SHOCK INTACT It's as relevant and irreverent as it was in 1999. It's not about the bug. IT'S ABOUT US. AND THEM

Reading the Novel in English 1950–2000; “This is an excellent introductory study. The selection of texts is intriguing. The volume is well-informed by criticism of the field and Shaffer’s close reading is exemplary. His interpretations cast fresh light on some novels that have become canonical and therefore this study is of great use to students generally and for those teaching them.” Philip Tew, University College Northampton; Director, UK Network for Modern Fiction Studies Written in clear, jargon-free prose, this introductory text charts the variety of English-language novel writing in the second half of the twentieth century. It focuses equally on British and Irish novelists, and on Anglophone novelists from other countries (exclusive of the US). The text provides students both with strategies for interpretation and with fresh readings of ten influential novels. It maps out the most important contexts and concepts for understanding the fiction of the period, considering subjects such as the aftermath of literary modernism and the end of the British Empire. Novels discussed in depth include Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale, Kazuo Ishiguro’s Remains of the Day, and Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart. The author treats the English-language novel of this period as a socially-engaged and exploratory genre, one that challenges and stretches the prevailing canons of knowledge and literary representation in its bid to depict and probe an evolving present.
