They are ambushed and escape through a wall of fog to land in an ancient medieval castle in another universe. On Levvid's orders the Black Prince wages war on the Kingdom of Evonia. Dan must stop him. Dan roots out evil treachery, not before a major battle is fought. Levvid kidnaps Dan's sister Nancy. Dan has one hour to save her. Yet he knows Levvid will kill them. He has no choice but to try. Returning to planet Zaphron and to the Valley of the Souls Dan's sister is again abducted by petty criminal and a devil. Dan pursues the abductors. The rough and unfamiliar landscape leads Dan to seek help of the Cave Dwellers. The sinister Doctor Zazzny with his entourage of humanoid scientists tag along. Dan is suspicious of the Doctor. The annual week long typhoon storm with pounding rains and fierce winds begins instantly. They're forced to seek shelter in a nearby abandoned cave. Dan and Billy explore and find access to Levvid's Power Center, his staging area to conquer the universe. Levvid cannot allow his center to be discovered. At all cost Dan and his handful of supporters must die. An army of devils arrive to retake the Power Center. An invisible clocking system set up by the mad scientist Doctor Zazzny prevents access to the Center. However, many internal elements are set in motion to kill Dan and to prevent the takeover of the Power Center. When Dan discovers Levvid has ordered the genocide of the Cave Dwellers, the Forest People and the Ghost People, he vows to fight and defeat Levvid. Dan is confronted by treachery and many of Levvid's internal defensive mechanisms and systems. Dan uses some of Levvid's military humanoid robots against the devil, but that is not enough. Zuzza fights the elements to seek recruits from the Cave Dwellers and Nancy of the Forest People. Dan discovers Levvid's hidden control center. He must destroy it.
Cider Dan, also known as Dan Byler (1939-2004) of Spartanburg, PA, was an Amish Lumber Jack. He created this second book of his ramblings. The stories that he has written here give us a view into the Amish life in western Pennsylvania and Ohio. He tells of his early life as a boy and then a young man as he learned the lumber trade from his father and others. Then as a married man with children, he tries to both provide for his growing family and to be in business for his own at times. Then, as an older man, he suffers from an Aneurysm that nearly kills him and then cancer. Though his life, Cider Dan had a great sense of humor and told great stories that will keep you both laughing and crying.
