"A treat to read. It was touching; suspenseful; joyful; and most of all, hilarious. Thank you, Kelli Jae Baeli, for such endearing entertainment.""...in true AKA Investigations style, events conspire to spiral out of control, testing the fortitude, depth of feeling and sheer courage of each of the characters. Nail-biting action and heart-stopping tension take the reader on a roller-coaster ride through the pages, piling one catastrophe on top of another and testing the characters to the limit. I wasn't sure they'd all make it out alive in this one, but it sure had me turning the pages to find out. Baeli is at the top of her game here, delivering a book at once touching and full of odd, often humorous bits of wisdom and a storyline of exciting misadventure and action.""The author writes wonderful dialog that is keen, witty and original. This book was a blessing and a curse. -A blessing because it was so satisfying, but a curse because I was sad for it to end. So...I read it once, went back and read "Armchair Detective" again and then read it again. Simply put, this book was one of the best reads I've had in a while. The phrase, "I couldn't put it down" has lost its significance due to over use, but I'll say that I couldn't wait to get into bed at night and get my Baeli fix before falling asleep. As for the plot - it is riveting this is a fantastic book "Newly ensconced in the house on Manor Lane, Jobeth and Phoebe are enjoying the city of Lakewood, Colorado and Jobeth's newly licensed AKA Investigations. After a fresh start in the Denver Metro region, life seems idyllic and full of promise. The dream is soon shattered by ghosts from the past, appearing to tear the fabric of love and trust. With the company of their friend, Detective Ginger Grant, a crescendoing battle of survival will test their courage, as they discover the darker permutations of DNA."I had no idea what a wild ride the author had in store. One of the best things about the book is Baeli's commitment to the ending. So many authors build up tension in their novels only to resolve everything in a matter of 15 pages. This is so frustrating and just plain lazy in my opinion. The last 15% of the book is wrought with tension and I was surprised and captivated the whole time."

"Funny, entertaining, romance, and suspense, all in one book ""Great story with a fun main character. A little mystery, action, good sex, and great story telling. What more do you want?"Jobeth O'Brien awakens on the floor of her kitchen, her battered face and the memory of an angry visitor tells her that she is close to something important in her investigation. In between this surveillance and delivering newspapers, her beloved '62 Falcon is the scene of middle-of-the-night romps with a lonely socialite, who gives her more than she bargained for. Her quest for the truth pits her against errant husbands, a modern-day madam with a taste for blood, a horny landlady, a vicious attack dog, and the lies she tells herself. Amid these challenges, Jobeth stakes out her prey and runs for her life, continuing the investigation that pulls her into close calls, unexpected allies, and more secrets. But Jobeth has secrets of her own, and only love can excavate them."Ms. Baeli's writing style...is sort of Plum meets Chandler; it's funnier than Plum, though, and if not quite as noir as Chandler, it's getting there. Which is not to say it's derivative in any way, just to give you an idea what it's like. And, it's a combination that works really, really well." "extremely well-written and nicely paced, with a plot was that's interesting, and with engaging characters, especially Jobeth."

"Thank heavens for books like this...please write more....with the nookie.....thanks.""AKA Sleepy Cat Peak Book 5 is my absolute favorite. It combines romance, the progress of Phoebe and Jobeth's relationship, a little intrigue, and Baeli's ever present humor. I'll never think of sasquatch in the same way again thanks to the author " Jobeth and Phoebe go back to basics in more ways than one. With the Ascension House up and running, and Jobeth busier than ever with her Investigations, Phoebe thinks it's time that she and Jobeth have a vacation. Especially since they have lost track of their intimate time together. She suggests a unique mountain getaway called Sleepy Cat Peak Lofty Cabins--a retreat for the gay community where the cabins are treehouses. While Jobeth tries to resist the urge to investigate the interesting goings-on in the winter oasis, she also has to deal with some sobering questions about her relationship with Phoebe; and although Phoebe made Jobeth promise to leave her gun and her investigative obsession at home, she can't help but get involved in the life and drama of the old lesbian couple who run the place. But neither Jobeth nor Phoebe expected their getaway to turn into something so pivotal to their relationship, nor to have to explore preconceived notions so profoundly. Can Jobeth get past her own boundaries? Or will she lose Phoebe forever? "Ok, let's talk about the elephant in the room. This book has nookie in it. Oh yes. Great nookie. It's not all left to your imagination it's out there, good and proper, and I loved it. This story is the next installment of the Phoebe and Jobeth books, or as I like to call them Posh Bird and Papergirl. I've enjoyed all these books for lots of reasons, but this one was a bit of a departure from the crime novels. This book centered very much on the relationship of the two women with any sort of mystery being more of a side dish.I liked this book because it felt honest. There are 'bedroom issues' discussed, and these are issues I've read about in gay magazines, they are real issues....and that's great. Just because the issues are a bit saucy I'm sure people will be slightly put off, but don' be, it's just being honest.Well you get my drift, I loved the book. I enjoyed the sex scenes and I felt the pain and the shame that went with the healing. It's a really good book and I thoroughly recommend it.Thank heavens for books like this...please write more....with the nookie.....thanks.

Women have always been capable of securing their own financial futures. However many believe that it is not necessary to take charge of their money, their savings, and their finances. Many women lack the confidence to become financially self-reliant. They put off learning about investing, then wake up years later and realize that they have short-changed their own financial security.I want to prepare you for the short term and the long term. In this book, I share how to be financially savvy. I believe that women need money to achieve their goals, to take care of themselves, and to do things with and for the people they love. Here, I teach you how to create and multiply money at the blink of an eye without a lot of effort because, honestly, there really isn't much that you can do in the world without it In this book, I empower women to be financially self-sufficient, to support themselves, and then to pass on good financial habits to their children. I teach you how to trade options, and introduce you to some amazing strategies that will help any woman handle her finances and assist her family. What I have to show you is both lucrative and fun. Once you grasp and master the concepts of options trading, you can pretty much write your own paycheck... literally Once you know the basics of finance and trading, your life will never be the same. These fundamentals have the power to change your views about making money and much more.Kelli Williams was born and raised in Harlem, and then moved to the Bronx at age nine. For many years she worked as a manager in the fast-food industry before learning to trade options. When she became a car sales consultant at Capital Nissan in Wilmington, North Carolina, she realized that women in particular need to be educated about the financial markets, and take their place on Wall Street. Kelli believes, and knows through experience, that the stock market is one of the best places for anyone to build wealth over time. It offers a level playing field to do just that: gender, race, and socio-economic status are irrelevant there. She has come to realize that women are the keepers of the light of humanity, and believes that the financial empowerment of women is vital not only for themselves but for their children, families, communities, economy, and our world.

Long before Burt Whitehead was dubbed The Lighthouse Killer, he attended Birchville High School. Being bullied made life rough, but he stuck it out and graduated in the year 2000. Getting rid of his abusive mother was on his agenda, until his aunt stepped in and saved the day, making his entrance into adulthood easier. He enjoyed his job giving tours at the Henderson Harbor lighthouse and never forgot about the prank that his evil classmates played on him just before graduation. Cynthia Barnett was his classmate and neighbor, who hung out with Burt's tormenters. Putting an end to her friendship with the infamous Melissa Hammond, she grew closer to friend, Doreen "Dorie", the girl-next-door type who had a crush on Burt. As Cynthia went on to pursue the college life, Doreen grew closer to Burt. A little too close. She and Cynthia learn the truth about Burt Whitehead the hard way as he plans to do his old bullying classmates in. Revenge doesn't come with an expiration date. This prequel of Summer Shack is told in two parts. Part One is told from Cynthia's point of view and her classmates who gossip and push Burt's buttons. Part Two shows the flip side and tells Burt's story. With elements of the thriller/horror combination, the second part takes you into the mind of a kid with a dysfunctional family who grows up to become a serial killer.
The Rabbit Effect: Live Longer, Happier, and Healthier with the Groundbreaking Science of Kindness
This groundbreaking and life-changing work based on the latest research effectively demonstrates "the profound impact that love, connection, and kindness have on our health" (Mark Williamson, PhD, director of Action for Happiness). When Columbia University doctor Kelli Harding began her clinical practice, she never intended to explore the invisible factors behind our health. But then there were the rabbits. In 1978, a seemingly straightforward experiment designed to establish the relationship between high blood cholesterol and heart health in rabbits discovered that kindness--in the form of a particularly nurturing post-doc who pet and spoke to the lab rabbits as she fed them--made the difference between a heart attack and a healthy heart. As Dr. Kelli Harding reveals in this eye-opening book, the rabbits were just the beginning of a much larger story. Groundbreaking new research shows that love, friendship, community, and our environment can have a greater impact on our health than anything that happens in the doctor's office. For instance, chronic loneliness can be as unhealthy as smoking a pack of cigarettes a day; napping regularly can decrease one's risk of heart disease; and people with purpose are less likely to get sick. At once paradigm-shifting and empowering, The Rabbit Effect illuminates vital public health research showing kindness in our day-to-day lives can make the "world a healthier, happier place. I recommend this book highly for anyone who wants to live more healthfully" (Christy Turlington Burns, and CEO of Every Mother Counts).
