This volume presents two works elaborating a general theory of words and their structure written by Ren de Saussure, younger brother of Ferdinand de Saussure. Although originating in Ren de Saussure's concerns for the structure of Esperanto, these essays are clearly intended to articulate a general account of word formation in natural language. They appear here in the French original with facing English translations, accompanied by some remarks on Ren de Saussure's life and followed by essays on the Esperantist background of his analysis (by Marc van Oostendorp), the contemporary relevance of his morphological theory (by Stephen Anderson), and the semantic theory of words underlying his analysis (by Louis de Saussure). These two works have remained essentially unknown to the community of scholars in general linguistics since their publication in 1911 and 1919, respectively, although Esperantists have been aware of them. They develop in quite explicit form a theory of what would later be called morphemic analysis, based primarily on data from French (with some material from German and English, as well as occasional examples from other Indo-European languages). In its fundamental aspect, Ren 's view of word formation differed significantly from that of his brother, who saw the structure of complex words as revealed not through their decomposition into smaller 'atomic' units but rather in the relations between words, relations which could be presented in analogical form and which anticipate rule-based theories of morphological structure. The contrast between the two brothers' views thus anticipates basic issues in current theorizing about word structure.

Det sidste i verden, Sophie Lancaster har lyst til, er at vende tilbage til Poplar Falls og sin fars familie, som hun ikke har set i 20 år. Som billedkunstner fordeler René Holm sit arbejdsliv mellem Danmark og Berlin, og det kommende år markerer 25 år som professionel kunstner. Renés karriere har været præget af omfattende udstillings-aktivitet, i både ind og udland – deriblandt soloudstillinger på Trapholt Kunstmuseum, Vestjyllands Kunstpavillon, Vrå Kunstmuseum, Kunstpakhuset Ikast, TRAFO museet (Polen).Renés værker er at finde i museumssamlinger på bl.a. Trapholt og Kunsten, Aalborg.BogenDa samfundet blev lukket ned i 2020, gav den tvungne pause fra ellers heftig udstillingsaktivitit, René en mulighed for at afsøge nye perspektiver sit maleri, med specifikt udgangspunkt i nye materialer. I dag arbejder han med pigmentfarver på ubehandlet bomuld – en detour fra oliemaleriet, som har åbnet nye kanaler i sit udtryk. De nye værker blev udstillet for første gang i 2022 på Galleri Benoni (Kbh), og sidenhen bl.a. i Sydney, Berlin og München, samt på Enter Art Fair. Modtagelsen værkerne har fået, har cementeret et ønske om at arbejde videre med samme proces, og at dokumentere/markere arbejdet i en bogudgivelse.Udgivelsen vil indeholde værker fra de seneste års arbejde, og vil forene og understrege det samlede udtryk, og de eksistentielle tematikker der forbinder malerierne. Samtidig vil bogen markere Renés 25-års jubilæum som udstillende kunstner.Værkerne repræsenterer en tid og et arbejde, som er udsprunget af livets uventede forhindringer og omprogrammeringer. En tid der med al sin uvished, har vist sig kun at være optakten til en kollektiv ny-opfattelse af verden. De nye malerier søger at trække den oplevelse ind på helt nært plan og det er Renés ønske at dele og videregive fornemmelsen fra arbejdet til et publikum, i bogform.

Descartes's Principles 0. / Philosophy is his longest and most ambitious work; it is the only work in which he attempted to actually deduce scientific knowledge from Cartesian metaphysics, as he repeatedly claimed was possible. Whatever the success of this attempt, there can be no doubt that it was enormously influential. Cartesian celestial mechanics held sway for well over a century, and some of the best minds of that period, including Leibniz, Malebranche, Euler, and the Bernoullis, attempted to modify and quantify the Cartesian theory of vortices into an acceptable alternative to Newton's theory of universal gravitation. Thus, the Principles is not only of inherent and historical interest philosophically but is also a seminal document in the history of science and of 17th Century thought. Principles of Philosophy was first published in Latin, in 1644. In 1647, a French translation, done by the Abbe Claude Picot and containing a great deal of additional material and a number of alterations in the original text, was published with Descartes's enthusiastic approval. Unlike some English translations of portions of the Principles, this translation uses the Latin text as its primary source; however, a good deal of additional material from Picot's translation has been included. There are several reasons for this. First, there is good evidence that Descartes himself was responsible for some of the additional material, including, of course, the Preface to the French translation.

Homme aux convictions affirm es, n'h sitant pas critiquer ouvertement l' volution politique du r gime de Vichy, puis reprocher plusieurs fois au g n ral de Gaulle, dont il soutint pourtant fermement l'action, son intransigeance, voire ses clats l' gard des Alli s, il fut au Quai d'Orsay le partisan de la r sistance aux ambitions hitl riennes - ce qui lui valut une mise l' cart en 1938 - et, apr s la guerre, l'un des d fenseurs d'une construction europ enne fond e sur la relation avec l'Angleterre et le respect de la souverainet des tats. René Reiss var känd i Filmbranschen och biokretsar i Stockholm. För cirka 15 är sen stod det mycket om Kvartersbion och René i Stockholmstidningarna . Bion var nedläggningshotad och fick inte Kulturstöd längre.Bion var samlingsplats för Bioälskare och andra. Bla hemlösa och Hbtq-folk m.fl.René visade Kvalitetsfillm från klassiker som Casablanca till Kusturica Zigenarnas tid.Han sålde Bion för ca 10 år sen.Jag trodde någon av hans kollegor skulle skriva en bok om honom, men så fick jag göra det i stället.Gunnar Thorell skrev ett inlägg om boken i Facebook.René Reiss hade Konstutställningar på Kvartersbion också.Margareta Hoffers illustrerade minnesbok om René Reiss - pappa till Kvartersbin vd Hornstull.Margareta är själv konstnär, skriver på samma sätt som hon målar- det vill säga drastiskt, subjektivt, utan försök att lägga till rätta. Det blir ett minnesmärke över hennes kärlek till René - ibland tragiskt ibland komiskt - framför allt unikt levande.
