D R VWhat if Joe Deleski could stop a serial killer from murdering kids? What if he could convince his wife to come back to him? What if he could redeem all the suffering and death he caused during the Iraq war? In fact, Joe Deleski does have the power to make all these things happen but he just isn't allowed to know it yet Joe Deleski was once a top psychic for the CIA, called a 'Remote Viewer.' Now, haunted by all his guilt from that past, he's a drunk, has given up on life, and is working as a taxi driver in Los Angeles. Separated from his wife Rachael, Joe would do anything to get her back, except deal with the problems which drove her away in the first place. And Joe has given up on life, just when hes needed the most Tick-Tock is what the press is calling the maniacal serial killer hunting children in Los Angeles. He kidnaps little girls then plays time games with the police that have strict - and deadly - time-lines connected to them. Three girls have been murdered in three weeks, and the Los Angeles police are nowhere near stopping him. They turn to the FBI, who turns to the - well, that part is still classified.Let's just say, the police need Joe Deleski. There is just one problem: because of the way Joe's psychic ability works, he can't know what the case is or what he's working on. It is to Frank Shaw, an ex-CIA agent that started his own company to exploit Remote-Viewing when the program was declassified, that police turn. It was Shaw who trained remote viewers in the first place. But Shaw currently has his own problems - mainly just keeping his business going. And so Shaw turns to Joe Deleski, his #1 star Remote-Viewer. The meeting rekindles old resentments between Joe and his onetime boss. But for Joe, this is his last chance to do something meaningful, to put his life back together, and to be with Rachael once again, even if he just doesn't know it yet. Nor does he know the danger that he and Rachael are in... D R VDirected Remote Viewinglook deep see far...http: //mead-hill.wixsite.com/mead-hill

Self-Directed Currency Trading for Beginners: High Profit Currency Trading Using Supply and Demand
Trading is challenging for most people because they simply don't have information, tools or confidence to become successful. This book is important for beginners because it tells it like it is and gives an inside look at trading the financial markets giving you the reality on what the live market is really like, the way they are really run and tells you who runs them and what you need to do as a self-directed beginner to survive in them.Let's face it, it's a well-known fact that 97% of brand new self-directed investors and traders fail and lose all of their money, why does this happen? It happens because brand new self-directed traders enter into this business with a bunch of misguided grandiose ideas of making a million dollars from trading and while you can surely make millions of dollars from trading you would need to be using hundreds of millions of dollars of capital to do so, no joke.As a brand new self-directed trader you have no idea of the brutality and volatility that goes on in the live markets on a daily basis and that there are people in the live markets who will walk over dead bodies to get paid so make no mistake as a beginner and think you can go in the live market and beat them, you can't. What you can do though is properly prepare yourself to trade with the best traders in the world and get paid right along with them instead of paying them.Once you have completed reading this entire book you will have a chance at competing with the best professional traders on the planet. The information in this book will put you on the fast track to being able to make an unlimited income for yourself and becoming consistently profitable enough from trading the financial markets to perhaps even making a living from doing it, isn't that the type of business you would like to be in?

Sensory-Directed Flavor Analysis
Today, flavor chemists can generate copious amounts of data in a short time with relatively little effort using automated solid phase micro-extraction, Gerstel-Twister® and other extraction techniques in combination with gas chromatographic (GC) analysis. However, more data does not necessarily mean better understanding. In fact, the ability to extract, isolate, and concentrate potential flavor-important chemicals from complex food systems has surpassed the ability to understand how the chemical data relates to flavor. Sensory-Directed Flavor Analysis helps chemists unlock the flavor secrets that may be hiding in their chromatograms by translating cold hard numbers into a better understanding of the sense of smell and taste. The author integrates the two disciplines of sensory science and analytical chemistry, encouraging sensory scientists to incorporate more analytical data while encouraging analytical chemists to include more sensory techniques. Using more ancillary techniques helps each discipline elucidate how various chemical constituents influence food flavor and appeal. The book discusses important enabling technologies and analytical methods including GC-olfactometry (GC-O), combination GC-O and multi-dimensional GC, the application of odor activity values (OAVs), and recombination studies, as well as solid-phase dynamic extraction and preseparation techniques. A broad array of applications, in addition to dozens of tables, graphs, gas chromatograms, and pictures, are included throughout the book. Highlighting the advantages and disadvantages and the appropriate circumstances for each method of analysis, Sensory-Directed Flavor Analysis offers flavor scientists an essential reference to deepen their understanding of the function of chemicals on the perception of taste.

Child-directed Speech in Qaqet

Child-directed Speech in Qaqet

Qaqet is a non-Austronesian language, spoken by about 15,000 people in East New Britain, Papua New Guinea. In the remote inland, children acquire Qaqet as their first language. Much of what we know about child-directed speech (CDS) stems from children living in middle-class, urban, industrialised contexts. This book combines evidence from different methods, showing that the features typical for speech to children in such contexts are also found in Qaqet CDS. Preliminary insights from naturalistic audio recordings suggest that Qaqet children are infrequently addressed directly. In interviews, Qaqet caregivers express the view that children 'pick up' the language on their own. Still, they have clear ideas about how to talk to children in a way that makes it easier for them to understand what is said. In order to compare adult- and child-directed speech in Qaqet, 20 retellings of a film have been analysed, half of them told to adults and half to children. The data show that talk directed to children differs from talk directed to adults for several features, among them utterance type, mean length of utterance, amount of hesitations and intonation. Despite this clear tendency, there seems to be a cut-off point of around 40 months of age for several of those features from which the talk directed to children becomes more like the talk directed to adults.
Self-Directed Learning and the Academic Evolution From Pedagogy to Andragogy
Self-directed learning is a concept that has been in circulation for centuries, though the topic experiences lulls and surges as contemporary theories identify advantages or improvements to better align the topic with contemporary learning environments. Self-directed learning is an instructional strategy where students accept a leadership role in their own learning practice and an increasingly significant learning technique for undergraduate students performing in a technologically and globally advanced college arena. Self-Directed Learning and the Academic Evolution From Pedagogy to Andragogy is an essential reference book that supports a student shift from passive pedagogical learning to active andragogical exploration and specifically shift from seeking mastery of basic skills to recognizing and reassessing the structure of personal assumptions, expectations, feelings, and actions. It fills the gap between theory-laden academic books designed to help academic faculty incorporate self-directed learning activities into their courses and the self-help books designed to help motivate individuals to learn new skills. This book is designed to specifically empower college students to accept a leadership role in their academic journey. Covering topics such as self-directed learning, lifelong learning, educational leadership, and competency-based education, this book is a foundational resource for teachers, instructional designers, administrators, curriculum developers, academicians, researchers, and students.
