Sono rappresentati i sentimenti, le ansie, gli affetti e le gioie da lei provate nella sua lontana infanzia e la loro evoluzione fino alla sua tarda eta. Lo sfondo storico e stato molto curato verificando presso l'emeroteca della Biblioteca Nazionale le date degli avvenimenti a cui si fa cenno nel testo, ma questo non toglie nulla all'immediatezza ed alla spontaneita del racconto che soprattutto e incentrato sulle vicende umane e familiari. Chi l'ha conosciuta la riconoscera certamente nel ritratto che fa di se stessa.
