Young Gary Brackett had no higher ambition than to run the New Mexico family farm as well as he possibly could. Their great grandson Robert O'Brien made a discovery of his own in the form of a sealed canister left by a scientist of the Ancient Sharian race. His world was ending due to global cooling. He had been developing real time, long range communication, when he grew old and died. Fortunately he had saved his work for future generations. All that was left for Robert to do was to grow up, learn how to decipher the ancient writings, and adapt it for use by the present generations. Robert with the help of his wife Martha, was able to pull together bits and pieces of several ancient technologies, and put the whole thing together to form a Communication Breakthrough.
