Unfortunately, I believe Thoreau was right when he perceived most people living lives of quiet desperation. This book is about finding and following your personal path out of the swamps of boredom. I call this path your "Yellow Brick Road."Boredom is an obvious sign that you are off this pathway to a more fulfilling, abundant life. But, what is this thing called "boredom?" Why do we share this feeling with all higher animals? Could there be an important message, as well an unrealized power, hidden beneath this annoying feeling? In this book I will take you through my personal journey from being an agnostic scientist, to the startling discovery that the Universe is aware, responsive, and intently seeking greater expression of Itself through us. As a biologist I saw that this Divine Intent applied to every speck of life in the Cosmos and not merely human life. In this journey of realization I discovered the meaning of this thing called "life," and our individual Yellow Brick Roads to be profoundly connected. You have a purpose and destiny to fulfill and it's certainly not being bored After you realize this important fact, the critical skill is navigating this path of Power, your Yellow Brick Road. I refer to this skill as "stalking." Having been a hunter all my life, I use metaphors of hunting throughout the book; specifically bow hunting. I equate the tension of pulling the bowstring as being similar to allowing the tension of your boredom to build. Most waste this power beneath their boredom with indulgences and distractions such as alcohol, drugs, sex, etc. You need the patience of a hunter in order to stalk the power of the Universe as it seeks being more fully expressed through you. If you are able to do this, Spirit will guide you.All hunters track their prey by reading signs and signals. The Universe/Spirit will provide all the signs you need to find and follow your Tao, or Yellow Brick Road. The problems are first, the ability to wait in stillness, and second, having the awareness level to see them. This takes personal power and I discuss how to build this power. If you are able to do this, and learn to perceive the incessant guidance of the Universe, your life becomes a magical adventure. This book is for anyone seeking this more abundant, more magical life. Additionally, it is for readers who have long wondered about Life's overall purpose and their role in the "big picture." In the past you have likely been unsatisfied with the dogmatic answers provided by organized religions and the cold materialism of science. This book is for hunters who hunger for bigger game. Having been attracted to this book you are not, as they say, "new to the planet." You have been around the reincarnation-block a few times. Like myself, you may have suffered loss, perhaps struggled with addictions, and had personal setbacks. Now you are tired of being bored with your life and are ready for a new paradigm of living.I suspect New Age ideas resonate with you. Likely you have seen the movie, "The Secret," and read the inspirational writings of Eckhart Tolle, Ernest Holmes, Wayne Dyer, Carlos Castaneda, Richard Bach, and others. Perhaps, like me, you have even followed the channeled teachings of "Abraham." Like a jungle plant you have been seeking the light of understanding for a long time. Allow me to offer this framework for you to wrap climbing roots around on your ever-upward eternal journey.

"Man", the first syllable of "mantra", indicates "mind", and "tra" means "to free". The ancient Vedas recommend, especially for the current age, chanting of authentic mantras to free the mind from fear, and to move the self towards itself in self-discovery. The Vedas particularly encourage chanting the Hare Krsna Maha Mantra for self-realization and for purifying our existence. This doctoral dissertation, Effects of the Hare Krsna Maha Mantra on Stress, Depression, and the Three Gunas, is the first study, conducted according to rigorous standards of modern social science, to research the effects of the practice of Maha Mantra meditation.

The argument for metaethical relativism, the view that there is no single true or most justified morality, is that it is part of the best explanation of the most difficult moral disagreements. The argument for this view features a comparison between traditions that highly value relationship and community and traditions that highly value personal autonomy of the individual and rights. It is held that moralities are best understood as emerging from human culture in response to the need to promote and regulate interpersonal cooperation and internal motivational coherence in the individual. The argument ends in the conclusion that there is a bounded plurality of true and most justified moralities that accomplish these functions. The normative implications of this form of metaethical relativism are explored, with specific focus on female genital cutting and abortion.
