Saint Jude Thaddeus was one of the disciples of Jesus Christ. He is considered the patron saint of lost and desperate causes. Many ancient writings have preserved traditions about the life of Saint Jude Thaddeus. He is believed to have brought the Message of Jesus to the Assyrians, Armenians and the people living in Chaldea and Mesopotamia. This book tells the story of Saint Jude with pictures from the docudrama film "Saint Thaddeus: Apostle to Assyria."

The Epistle of Jude is a powerful text which reminds Christians that there will always be false teachers around who do not teach the true Gospel. These false teachers show up in a variety of settings and even in the church. Jude encourages Christians to consistently build up their faith through the study of Scripture, consistent prayer, regular worship and radical obedience to the Great Commandments of Jesus. As we stay close to God through Scripture, prayer, worship and loving God and all others, we grow in sanctifying grace and become holier and stronger disciples of Jesus. Being built up in righteousness, Jude assures us that we will recognize false teachers very easily, and we will not be led astray by their teachings. As the true Gospel is reflected in our lives and ministries, our light shines in this world and the lost are drawn to Christ as they look and see that his kingdom is coming in our hearts, lives, and ministries. In this, God is glorified, and the lost are found. And, false teachers who promote selfish and sinful versions of Christian doctrines are exposed and defeated.

The chapters in this book were first taught many years ago in the Fresno School of Mission course at our church. The outline and lecture notes from that verse by verse study were converted into this book. This is a devotional study and commentary on all twenty-five verses of Jude. My purpose was to make technical Greek words and phrases understandable to all Christian believers. I also wanted to give practical applications and real-life stories that are often missing from scholarly commentaries. We start out in Jude 1-4 to see how the Lord empowers us to live a godly life and contend for the faith. In Jude 5-7, we look at the three great judgments on Israel, the angels who sinned, and the people of Sodom and Gomorrah. Jude 8-11 gives us keen discernment on false teachers. They are like Cain, Balaam, and Korah. Verses 12-19 give us further insights into the apostates and God's judgment of them. Both Enoch and the apostles have already predicted their arrival. Finally, in Jude 20-25, we see how Christians can avoid apostasy and rescue others from it. Ultimately, it is God who keeps us from falling away. To Him be all the glory.
The Book of Jude is a hidden treasure full of knowledge, warnings, encouragement, and a challenge to fight for the faith that was not only good for the time it was written but also fits perfectly for us today. Jude is one of the only, if not the only, book given entirely to the great apostasy and written for the end times. As you study the Book of Jude, I believe you will agree with me that it is no wonder why it is placed right before the Book of Revelation. It is almost as if Jude is looking into a crystal ball at the current society of America and the entire world. There is no doubt that the words penned by Jude were inspired by the Holy Spirit and can be used by us today. In this book, I will go over verse by verse the meanings and hidden treasures of the book of Jude. Anyone that has the desire to learn more of God's word will be blessed to have this book a part of your study library. In a world that is full of false prophetsts and teachers, it is vital that we are educated on what is going on and how to prepare to confront this enemy of the gospel. It is my desire that as you read the pages of this book, you will understand that we are in the last days and need to be about the Father's business.
