Sexual violence has permeated every level of society: family, community, schools, universities, workplace, institutions of faith, military and even the criminal justice system. This memoir provides a transparent view of one survivor's journey through workplace sexual victimization in the legal community and the devastating obstacles placed in the path of justice. We are inundated with stories in the media which often include the same characters like a recurring stage play-the abuser, the victim and those who enable the abuse. However, so many tragic stories go unreported and will never reach media attention or reported to the authorities. Even if one feels helpless to change the situation, perhaps a few tools will enable the reader to possibly stop the bleeding wound of even one person that crosses their path by shining the light of truth and refusing to join the pack with hateful comments directed at a brave human.There are countless individuals that are victims of workplace sexual harassment and assault who are in hiding and wearing the mask of false shame and guilt in plain view. This mask is worn as they know, not just in their hearts, but can see it all throughout the media that those who stand up for themselves face debilitating scrutiny. They know they will have to face immense challenges. Challenges that require knowledge and assistance from the legal community. The issues they are facing are often too complex for regular advocacy and they need the expertise and partnership of effective legal advocacy. And yet, where does one find the help? Especially when the same community entrusted to protect the rights of sexual trauma victims shields and enables a power player in the legal community to avoid the consequences of his actions. It is time to speak up.
