This is a story of Tony Harte and his friends and lovers during the exciting years of the roaring 20s and the depression that plagued the 30s.Most of the story takes place in Chicago, a town known for machine politics, and famous gangsters such as Al Capone and Bugs Moran. This was the background where Tony was trying to make it in the big city. All of this happens later on in the story, but first, we need to get him through school.Tony attended Avondale School. As the story unfolds, many of his friends and cohorts also attended Avondale, a boy's school located northwest of Chicago. Edward Cap' Bagley bought the Avon farm in 1897 and founded the school as an orphanage for homeless urban boys. By 1920 this self-sustaining community had moved beyond an orphanage to a boarding school, the Avondale School for Boys.C.W. POLLOCK wrote his memoirs about his deeds and misdeed during the late 1920s and early 30S. His son, D.R. POLLOCK, having published his first novel Koa Kai in 2019, decided to turn his Father's work into a novel. C.W. POLLOCK graduated high school at Avondale and the school of hard knocks. He made sure that his son received a better education. D.R. Pollock holds a BBA from Georgia State University and an MBA from Drexel University. Both gentlemen had successful business careers, C.W. POLLOCK in the industrial photographs industry and D.R. POLLOCK in the engineering/construction industry.

It was a chilly night as I made my way to bed. Bev was already sleeping and before long, my eyes closed and my brain and body were very relaxed. It was 3:00 AM, when my eyes popped open from a dead sleep, thoughts were running through my head, like a river running to the ocean. What am I going to do now, retirement has struck like a five-pound hammer hitting a nail with the force of a hurricane. I sat up, legs dangling over the edge of the bed, stories and thoughts started to flow through my head, happy, sad and funny just a mix mash of everything, life flashing before my eyes. I laid back down tried to go back to sleep, and before I could enter that blissful state of hibernation for the second time, I thought you have had a good life, years full of happiness, tears, and adventures.I woke early and realized I was heading to my 67th year. Grabbed a coffee, sat down and cleared the cobwebs from my brain. Thinking, I should put some of my thoughts down on paper, before age makes them fade into oblivion. Why would one enter such a daunting task, keep the history and stories alive, more for my kids, relatives, and friends than anything else?As a result,

Born as Anthony J. Mahavoric, Tony Robbins entered this world on February 29, 1960 in North Hollywood, California. As the oldest sibling in a family of three children, Tony learned from a young age to demonstrate leadership and solve problems on his own rather than seeking higher authority. Tony's leadership was tested when he was only seven after his parents divorced. With Tony's mother being forced to work long hours, she was unable to care for the children as they needed. Tony filled this position while his mother was at work. Along with being a single parent, Tony's mother was addicted to drugs and alcohol leading to much physical abuse inflicted on Tony and his siblings. For this reason, Tony says he became a psychiatrist before he even graduated high school. Though not formally recognized with a P.h.D., Tony learned to be a keen judge of human behavior and emotions simply as a way to survive his mother's abuse. Following his parent's divorce, Tony's mother dated and married several men but infidelity and impatience lead to divorce after divorce. One of these husbands, Jim Robbins, used to be a semi-professional baseball player. Sensing Tony needed more than a father figure but rather a true father, Jim legally adopted Tony when Tony was twelve years old. Jim's days of baseball were over however and he was forced to take up sales as a way to provide income. Because this work was not particularly flourishing at the time, Jim's paychecks barely covered the bills, forcing the family to sacrifice celebrating Christmas and Thanksgiving for lack of a savings account.

In the 90s a group of architects formed in London that moved towards a matter-of-fact, unspectacular architecture inspired by the location. A key work and model in this style was Tony Fretton's Lisson Gallery from 1992 with its unembellished facade and strong lines, constructed virtually "without details" and integrated into the row of buildings. Text in English and German. 66 colour and 9 b/w illustrations
The British architect Tony Fretton has long been renowned as a pioneer of London’s architectural scene, winning many commendations and prizes for his buildings. Highlights include the Lisson Gallery in London, for which he attracted initial attention in 1990, as well as the Red House in London (2001) and the Danish Fuglsang Art Museum (2008). The three parts of this comprehensive and conclusive monograph address all aspects of his creative oeuvre: including his buildings, sketches, project ideas and his non-architectural photographic work. The reserved design of this overall presentation reflects his own rational, unembellished work, which is inspired by each respective location.
