'Kicking Embers' is the first collection of select poems by Zack Holland, better known by his pseudonym Pywrite, a play on fool's gold. The poems cover a range of topics, from Holland's perspective on love and youth, to diatribes analyzing the dichotomous state of the USA and the ever increasing gap between the wealthy and the poor. Direct, moving, and timely - 'Kicking Embers Into the Eye of the Storm' is a must-read for modern poetry lovers and casual readers alike.
When life has handed him way too many ridiculous absurdities, the smart-mouthed and quick-witted Zack Peter decides that life's lemons aren't bestowed for selfish affairs such as making lemonade. In a wild concoction of hilariously brash narratives, Zack recounts all of his life's most erratic moments, shaping the character he is today. Whether it's trying to convince his principal that the reason his hair is orange is because his mother made him color it, arguing with his great-grandmother over whether she's taking a shot of gin or just drinking her "medicine," or being voted the team's least valuable player, Zack really knows how to take life's lemons...and chuck them in the other direction, for the sake of his sanity; and sometimes at the cost of others'. Welcome to very unique life of Zack...

Pastor Guess has been preaching for over fifty years and considers it a great privilege that God called him into the ministry. During this time he has had a love affair with the Word of God. Early in his ministry, he was drawn to Paul's Epistle to the Philippians. This church was extremely generous and helpful to Paul. It was obviously a favorite church of Paul. Brother Guess began to study the book and eventually memorized it. He has preached through it several times. He wrote this commentary as a labor of love. He also loves the Koine Greek that the Lord used in the inspiration of the New Testament. In writing this commentary he has heavily drawn from many of the divinely-inspired grammatical constructions that cast much light on this epistle. Also, he has done extensive Greek word studies that provide a spiritual gold mine. Any New Testament assembly that wants to please the Lord would do well to study and emulate this delightful church that caused the beloved apostle such joy.

This book has no plot. It does have a deep surrealistic narrative filled with carefully planned story twists, complex symbolism, political intrigue, and self-referential satire, but that implies nothing about a plot. Rangsey Aaronson, just out of grad school with a useless art history Ph.D., is moving into a new house, and needs to get some of his papers signed by the landlord, William T. Frehling. However, entering his landlord's office transports him into a strange alternate universe contained in the confines of one enormous mansion. And what's worse, Frehling is nowhere to be found. Rangsey befriends a resident of the house named Tara, and with her he sets off on a quest to find Frehling within this enormous acid trip, finding themselves in a series of completely inconsequential situations along the way while constantly being hunted by a man with three eyes under his nose named, well, the man with three eyes under his nose.
