Brassica vegetables are diverse and widely consumed in tropical, subtropical and temperate regions of the world. Floral transition is a key developmental switch that determines the production of dry matter. In Brassica vegetable crops, bolting and flowering time can limit the potential for yield increases or interfere with harvest operations. The research work presented in this book reveals the genetic inheritance of early bolting and flowering time traits in two widely consumed brassica vegetables. The SLAF sequencing technique was used to construct a high-density linkage maps followed by QTL analysis. Different genomic regions were highlighted containing major QTLs governing bolting and flowering time traits in Kale and flowering cabbage vegetables. These genomic regions provide evidence for future research on validating and fine mapping of the identified QTLs. This genetic information of early flowering and bolting time traits can be used for desired genetic purposes.

Wireless sensor Networks (WSNs) are highly vulnerable to security attacks due to their reliance on wireless communication. Sensor nodes in WSNs are tiny in size and are supplied with limited energy resources and processing capabilities. These energy and hardware-resource-constrained nodes, without suitable safeguards, may be compromised by adversaries. Several en-route filtering schemes have been proposed to filter out false data en-route. However, almost all such schemes presuppose a conventional underlying routing protocol without regard to the attack status and energy dissipation behavior along the path. This book presents fuzzy-based adaptive selection of the intermediate verification nodes and data forwarding paths with dynamic authentication key dissemination to achieve better energy saving. Fuzzy rule-based scheme potentially balances the load between data forwarding paths, chooses the most suitable path for data forwarding, and generates fresh authentication keys and shares with the intermediate verification nodes. Genetic algorithm-based optimization technique automatically optimizes the membership functions in the fuzzy system.

This research work was carried out to make a comparative study of monoterpenes present inin vitro and field grown plants of Mentha arvensis L. (Japanese mint). Apical and nodalexplants of M. arvensis L. were cultured on MS agar-solidified media with different-1concentrations of BAP (0.2 to 1 mgL) for shoot induction. Best response of shoot induction-1% age was achieved on MS medium supplemented with 1mgL BAP from both apical andnodal explants. Highest number of shoots were formed on MS medium supplemented with-1-10.25 mgL Kinetin and 1mgL BAP from nodal explants on solid medium whereas in liquid-1medium highest number of shoots were induced in MS medium with 0.75 mgL Kinetin and-11mgLBAP from axenic shoots. In vitro grown shoots were cultured in half MS salts-1supplemented with IBA (2 mgL) for rooting. For callus induction from leaf, nodal andinternodal explants, MS medium supplemented with different conc. of growth hormones wastested. Excellent callus was achieved from leaf explants cultured on MS medium + 2,4-D-1-1(3mgL ) and 0.25 mgL BAP. Dark conditions proved to be the best for callus induction and16hs photoperiod for callus proliferation.

'Pseudo-native speaker' is the term given to a foreign language learner who has reached a high level of proficiency. Such level of proficiency is characterised by the mastery of grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. The present research work investigates the mastery of Verb+Noun lexical collocations by Algerian EFL learners at Universit des Fr res Mentouri, Constantine 1. It is hypothesised that Algerian EFL learners have a low level of mastery in the usage and comprehension of Verb+Noun collocations. It is also hypothesised that the essays of Algerian EFL learners lack the use of appropriate Verb+Noun collocations, a factor that influences the grades they receive. The findings of the study indicate that Algerian EFL learners have a low competence in dealing with Verb+Noun collocations. They also suggest that Verb+Noun collocational errors that were spotted were not taken into consideration during the correction, even though they are an indispensable part that guarantees the use of correct language. However, Verb+Noun collocational errors that were spotted did not solely determine the awarded grades.

Many times organizations do not pay special attention to the concept of customer service which is a key element in organizational growth. There is usually a misunderstanding between customer care and customer service in general. The customer service concept is broader than customer care. This book gives an insight to reasons why customer service is important in closing the missing link between customers and Customer Service Representatives (CSRs). It provides practical methodologies for creating customer service excellence providing a wide range of knowledge and skills necessary to exceed customer expectations. This book incorporates elements of different technologies being used in modern service centers, new ethics in action exercises and coverage of the latest trends in the customer service field. The intended outcome from the reader's side will be understanding how best to resolve customer complaints, improve communication and attain the skills needed to improve and sustain customer loyalty and business relationships.
