When Kong-sang was a young boy in Hong Kong, he enjoyed practicing martial arts with his dad but hated going to school. He was eventually enrolled in the China Drama Academy, where he improved his martial arts skills and became a stuntman. That training led to a successful career as an actor. Kong-sang, now known as Jackie Chan, never gave up on his passion for screwball physical comedy. Luckily for Jackie, his determination paid off. His humour and dangerous stuntwork in films like Cannonball Run, Rush Hour, Shanghai Noon, and Karate Kid have made him an international star, and it doesn’t look like he’ll be leaving the big screen anytime soon.

Jackie Young was born in 1941 in Austria. He was a child survivor of Theresienstadt concentration camp where he spent two years and eight months before liberation by the Soviet Army in May 1945. He came to England at nearly four years old and was adopted by a loving couple, the Janofskys, who told him nothing about his background.Jackie learned he was adopted at age nine when a boy at school told him and he started to understand why he always felt different from everyone else. Jackie’s life since has been a 70 year-long quest to find out the truth.Bit by bit, Jackie has uncovered the missing pieces of his background. He learned his mother was killed at 32 at Maly Trostenets near Minsk, most likely shot by the Nazis along with a further estimated 200,000 Jews. He also feared his father was a Nazi as his mother was unmarried, he went on the TV show ‘DNA Family Secrets’ in 2022 to discover the truth. Now a retired London taxi driver, Jackie has been married to the love of his life Lita for 60 years and has many treasures now – their two daughters and three grandchildren.Jackie's book is part of the My Voice book collection, a stand-alone project of The Fed, the leading Jewish social care charity in Manchester, dedicated to preserving the life stories of Holocaust survivors and refugees from Nazi persecution who settled in the UK. The oral history, which is recorded and transcribed, captures their entire lives from before, during and after the war years. The books are written in the words of the survivor so that future generations can always hear their voice. The My Voice book collection is a valuable resource for Holocaust awareness and education.

The diagnosis explained her feelings of low self-esteem, a sense of lost time and bouts of unexplained depression. Coping with the trauma of abuse, however, was not easy, as Jackie was frequently hospitalized and suffered from anxiety and severe depression. Many people have written books about multiple personality disorder in a clinical manner. This one brings readers into the family to highlight the highs and lows that those coping with the condition can expect--and how they and their loved ones can persevere.

I didn't realize I had any talent for writing until I began posting my little stories on Facebook. Friends began to suggest they belonged in a book to be used as a devotional. And so here it is, my second book. As you read you will meet my family, my church, and my friends and will grow to love them as I do. You will also see how they inspire me daily to write. God has given me a special ability to pull from the ordinary and watch Him make it extraordinary. He shows me how to take the little things and use them to challenge us all to live a life more pleasing to Him. He has also given me a unique sense of humor and if you add that to the mix you get what my husband refers to as "Jackie-isms". My hope is that my musings will encourage you, make you smile or even laugh out loud, and remind you that you are a beloved child of the most high King. Enjoy a story one day at a time or read through several as you relax for the evening. However you decide, just enjoy the ride through Jackie's World
