Through the trials & tribulations of Rob Bery, from a youngan he was always a good kid up until the point of his life when he seen his mother being jumped on by one of her boyfriends. A memory that he'd carry on in his mind, up until he laid eyes on him once again some years later. AQnd at this point it all played back in his head forcing him to get some get back, in which included a 40 oz bottle to the head sending him off to prison. After spending his time there, on his way out he bumped into an old time dealer from Greenup coming in for a long stint. And by him knowing that he gave Rob the roadmap to his stash in which he never used, but did indeed touch the streets with his main man JBall from back in the day leading him off into a helluva tear leading him back to the place he promised his grandmother he'd never touch again, story gets electrifying with drugs, guns, snitches, murders, and even murders, in which Rob played a part in the each of them........stay tuned and hold on tight.
BACKPAY........comes off the rebound of Bad Intentions with the ties that just happened to unbind even before Rob's son, Lord came into play. Lord followed only what he felt that his father would have wanted, in which lead him into the streets looking for the killer that departed what could have been the greatest father & son duo of all time. Then out of the blue, Rob's friend H-Tee comes back on the scene linking what Lord felt like was a betrayal that had transpired between him & his father up until the point where Rob's compadre JBall stamped the facts that lead back to the point from back in the days before leading back to Spence and his high powered entourage leading off into a war on the street with Rob's legacy on the line.
2023 50 Books 50 Covers Award, The American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) 2024 Honorable Mention, Design Awards, Graphis 2024 Finalist, Typography Competition, Communication Arts Magazine A beautifully illustrated exploration of the Rob Roy Kelly American Wood Type Collection. The Rob Roy Kelly Wood Type Collection is a comprehensive collection of wood type manufactured and used for printing in nineteenth-century America. Comprising nearly 150 typefaces of various sizes and styles, it was amassed by noted design educator and historian Rob Roy Kelly starting in 1957 and is now held by the University of Texas. Although Kelly himself published a 1969 book on wood type and nineteenth-century typographic history, there has been little written about the creation of the wood type forms, the collection, or Kelly. In this book, David Shields rigorously updates and expands upon Kelly’s historical information about the types, clarifying the collection’s exact composition and providing a better understanding of the stylistic development of wood type forms during the nineteenth century. Using rich materials from the period, Shields provides a stunning visual context that complements the textual history of each typeface. He also highlights the non-typographic material in the collection-such as borders, rules, ornaments, and image cuts-that have not been previously examined. Featuring over 300 color illustrations, this written history and catalog is bound to spark renewed interest in the collection and its broader typographic period.
