Solomon’s Pond discusses life through the twists and turns of growing older, caring for sick parents and the challenges of an uninspiring career. Told through the voice of Thalia, a thirty something college teacher, who discovers all is not right within the world, or at least the world she has created, as she wonders where she is truly meant to be and if her ‘chosen’ career path was really her choice after all. The book is part of a trilogy which has its origins in Celtic Christianity and features the first of the three main components: Pilgrimage. The other two books in the series focus on Individuality and Freedom. The book is set out in a way that readers can dip in and out of it at any time and still follow the story. It is broken into three main parts: Body, Mind and Soul in which all these correspond to what is happening in Thalia’s life, including her career which is going from bad to worse, directed by her spineless boss, Loki. This includes finding out about a secret double funding enterprise going on in her very department. Thalia experiences excruciating headaches and ill health which begin to change her views on life and death, especially when she finally discovers what she is suffering from.

Solomon the snail is a beautifully illustrated story book with a very important life lesson: Solomon shows young readers that even though time is precious and should be used wisely, everyone should go at their own pace.Solomon's friends call him Solomon the slowcoach. Even when he is moving as fast as he can, he hardly moves at all. One day Doris the dung beetle tells Solomon about a beautiful garden at the end of the road. She comes up with the idea that Solomon should slide into his house so she can push him down the road with her back legs. She is trying to help him get to the beautiful garden faster. Solomon agrees, but he gets very scared as he speeds over every bump along the road. Doris is very proud for saving Solomon time in getting to the garden, but Solomon explains to her that snails are not meant to go so fast. He tells Doris that wasting time has nothing to do with speed, it is what you do with your time. The friends agree to not waste time and to stick to the speed they were made for. This book is part of the exciting Bug stories series, a set of little stories with big lessons. By relating to the fun characters in this series, children can learn valuable life skills.Follow our Facebook page for the latest news and updates on this and other series.

THE WORLD'S MIGHTEST 16th CENTURY PURITANICAL ADVENTURER From the genius mind of Robert E. Howard, creator of CONAN THE BARBARIAN comes another sword-and-sorcery legend, Solomon Kane. Set in the 16h Century, Kane is a Puritan avenger roaming the known world on a quest to combat the forces of darkness in all its forms. Set in the late 16th-17th Century, Solomon Kane oft described as a living weapon of God, is described as a tall, thin, dour one-man war-machine traveling the world spreading the good word and delivering vengeance and wrath upon the evil and corrupt, from devil-worshiping devotees, to pirates, cannibals, demons, werewolves and vampires. This collection spans 15 years and collects over 600 pages of jaw-busting action. Solomon Kane first appeared in the legendary magazine Weird Tales back in 1928, and was described by his creator, the legendary Robert E. Howard as "A man born out of time, a strange blending of Puritan and Cavalier, with a touch of the ancient philosopher and a touch of the pagan. A knight errant in the sombre clothes of a fanatic. A hunger in his soul drove him on and on, an urge to right all wrongs, protect all weaker things, avenge all crimes against right and justice." Now Kane's complete, classic original comic strip adventures are collected in one jaw-dropping Omnibus volume Featuring adaptations of Robert E. Howard's formative tales and new chapters by such scribes as Roy Thomas, Ralph Macchio, Don Glut and Doug Moench. With artwork by David T. Wenzel, Howard Chaykin, Al Williamson and Colin MacNeil and featuring legendary artists Neal Adams, Mike Mignola, Mike Zeck and John Ridgway. Over the years, Marion has watched her life drain away. Children and husband gone, she ekes out her life in a country utterly transformed. But it’s the only home she has. As the new South Africa prepares for the World Cup finals, old divisions and suspicions seem as deep as ever, and the intruder she has been expecting, dreading and needing, arrives. Will true reconciliation turn darkness into hope?Solomon and Marion is a brand new play from an award winning South African writer, and it recently won the Fleur Du Cap Awardfor Best New South African Play.Foot is Artistic Director of the Baxter Theatre Centre and has won a bevy of South African theatre accolades. Foot has put most of her energy into helping other playwrights and theatre-makers realise their work, and she has nurtured several dozen new South African plays to their first staging. This includes producing the international hit Mies Julie written and directed by Yael Farber. Her own hard-hitting plays tackle social issues and have laid barethe brutality and sickening frequency of child rape in South Africa; Tshepang (2002) was based on a real event, the alleged gang rape of a nine-month-old baby by six men in a remote, impoverished community. Foot used refined, ironic humour to sketch a portrait of the community, then turned everyday objects into symbols with horrific poetic effect. Karoo Moose (2007) returned to the subject of child rape and a rural town — a shattered, forsaken community where ‘there are no fathers’. A 15-year-old girl is sold for sex to pay off the gambling debts of her jobless and spiritually crushed father,‘an opportunist with no opportunities’. And in Solomon and Marion, Foot explores the cruelty of the meaningless murders which betray her country. Hear and Now, Karoo Moose and Tshepang are also published by Oberon Books.Winner of the Fleur Du Cap Award for Best New South African Play
