"His head was beaten on the side of a toilet. And I would shake the man's hand who gripped the filth. 'Cause there's more justice in that man's hand, than all the court rooms of the country."Sylvia and her mother Heather's world is upended with her brother Neil's involvement in a particularly heinous crime. The severe public reaction and disgust is personified by Ruth, the next door neighbour.Insights are drawn into Heather's life as a pillar of the community by Sarah, an attending police officer, to show that even respected innocent bystanders can be burnt by the fire of public scandal."Sylvia Terry" enjoyed an enthusiastic reading within the 1998 Australian National Playwrights Conference in Canberra.

James Terry White was born in Newburyport, Massachusetts on July 3, 1845 and died on April 3, 1920 in New York City, New York. Mr. White was an American poet and publisher. White owned his own publishing company and through the years had interests in many different fields. In 1869, White founded a publishing company bearing his name, James T. White Co. in San Francisco, which was later moved to New York City. The firm published the first edition of The National Cyclopedia of American Biography in 1891. He served as vice president of the National Press Bureau. White was an organizer and vice president of the Hudnut Pharmacy in New York City. He founded the Character Development League in New York City, and in 1885, invented White's Physiological Manikin. He was also the president of the Yost Typewriting Company. As an author, he wrote the books Flowers from Arcadia, A Bouquet of California Flowers, Captive Memories, Christmas Greeting, and A Garden of Remembrance. Upon the death of my mother-in-law, my wife inherited a significant collection of works by White. How the collection came to be in the possession of this family is a mystery. After contacting several businesses that specialize in antique written works, it seems that White's poetry is not well sought after. Several options were considered; procurement to a museum; sell at an auction; attempt to contact distant relatives. However with an author not well known, no museum would be interested; nor do the works have any meaningful monetary value. After some creative thinking, the conclusion was reached to self publish the collection, as the value of the literary work may be determined in the future.

The 10th Special Forces Group was the first of the Green Beret units. Its five hundred men, all Airborne and mostly Rangers, received extensive training in everything from specialized weapons to uncommon languages. Their primary mission was to train and lead indigenous guerrillas operating in enemy territory. Second Lieutenant Colt Terry, who had joined the 82nd Airborne in 1947, had already done this in Korea. As a volunteer in the 10th SFG, he carried on his service, working with the Montagnards in Vietnam and the Khmer in Cambodia. He fought at Pleiku, Duc Co, and Plei Me, and he ferried supplies and weapons on elephants into Cambodia. From his enlistment as a buck private in 1945 to his retirement as a lieutenant colonel in 1970, Terry served five tours in combat, trained guerrillas, and earned two combat infantry badges, a Purple Heart, and two Bronze Stars. His experiences contributed to Special Forces' expertise in ambushes and killing techniques. Even as an officer, Terry never shied away from going deep into the jungle in search of the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese Army. He personally organized a successful effort to save hundreds of men in one of Special Forces' most critical A-team camps. As one of the original Green Berets, Terry helped set the standards by which these units have become known. Anyone who has ever wondered what the Green Berets were like during their first two decades will appreciate the riveting action and close-up detail of Terry's true-life story.

Sir Terry Wogan: A Life of Laughter

On Sunday, 31 January 2016 a nation used to waking 'up to Wogan' on his Radio 2 breakfast show instead awoke to the shocking news that Sir Terry Wogan had passed away at the age of seventy-seven. One of Britain's most-loved broadcasters, Terry Wogan had been a fixture on the airwaves for over five decades with his dry, laconic wit and commentary making him instantly recognisable to his legions of fans. Hosting a number of radio shows for the BBC over the years, including Weekend Wogan right up until November 2015, Wogan broadcast to a record-breaking 8 million listeners at his peak, winning numerous popularity polls over the course of his career. Not content with ruling the airwaves, his long-running talk show Wogan is now the stuff of TV legend, as are his sardonic observations on the Eurovision Song Contest which made him the face of Eurovision to many, even today. But perhaps his most important contribution to British society, and the one of which he was most proud, was his work with Pudsey the Bear to raise an astounding GBP600 million for Children in Need since he presented the very first show in 1980. Author Emily Herbert draws on the reminiscences of many famous friends and colleagues to create an authoritative and entertaining tribute to one of the funniest, most lovable and prolific broadcasters of all time.
