Part 1 focuses on coding, from building a user interface to the backend. You’ll use prompts to create the appearance of an app using HTML, styling with CSS, adding behavior with JavaScript, and working with multiple viewports. Next, you’ll build a web API with Python and Flask and refactor the code to improve code readability. Part 1 ends with using GitHub Copilot to improve the maintainability and performance of existing code. Part 2 provides a prompting toolkit for data science from data checking (inspecting data and creating distribution graphs and correlation matrices) to building and optimizing a neural network. You’ll use different prompt strategies for data preprocessing, feature engineering, model selection, training, hyperparameter optimization, and model evaluation for various machine learning models and use cases. The book closes with chapters on advanced techniques on GitHub Copilot and software agents. There are tips on code generation, debugging, and troubleshooting code. Sixteen stunning discoveries unravel the mystery surrounding the death of Alexander the Great.Who killed Alexander the Great? After more than two thousand years of speculation, the assassin of Alexander is finally identified in a comprehensive investigation in The Murder of Alexander the Great (in two books: The Puranas and The Secret War). In Book 1: The Puranas Alexander's journey is chronicled not only through the siloed lens of Greek records but also through a comparison of ancient Indian texts and artifacts. For the first time ever, the story of the eminent king of Macedonia is retold from a different perspective -- one that not only establishes Alexander prominently in ancient Sanskrit texts but also holds the key to resolving the age old mystery of his premature death.Inspired by fresh awareness to an ancient conundrum that has perplexed historians for millennia, The Murder of Alexander the Great is a powerful narrative of blood thirsty wars, mystic locales, and epic encounters -- one that leads to SIXTEEN remarkable findings about Alexander the Great thus rewriting the history of this great emperor forever.

Large and intense wildfires are integral to the globally important boreal forest biome. While much is known about boreal wildfires, the focus on forest remnants that either escape or survive these intense fires is a recent phenomenon: academics now study ecological processes of wildfire residuals, forest policymakers use their patterns to design harvest strategies, forest managers consider their economic value, and conservationists recognize their intrinsic ecological importance. Ecology of Wildfire Residuals in Boreal Forests is the first book to explore ecological patterns and processes of what does not burn within boreal wildfires. Following a brief introduction to the boreal forest biome, it discusses the processes that form wildfire residuals; how they are studied, with various approaches and methods; the types, extent, and ecological functions of wildfire residuals; and their role in forest management applications, all in the context of ecological scale. This book is a reference for researchers and graduate students studying boreal forest ecology, as well as for policymakers and forest managers. It adopts a non-reductionist perspective that will be of interest to scientists from conservation science, forest ecology, forest management, and timber production. Brings together fire behaviour, ecological scale, vegetation ecology, and conservation biology to provide a cross disciplinary, multi-scale, and an integrative discussion of forest fire residuals Captures the state of knowledge with a meta-analysis of research trends during the past few decades, with a comprehensive review of the literature, a compilation of key references, and a list of key topics relevant to the study of boreal wildfire residuals Identifies the major gaps and uncertainties in the present body of knowledge, including a critique of study techniques and reporting practices to date, and proposes a set of terms and definitions and a list of research questions and priorities Includes the authors’ observations and research experience from boreal Canada, and information extracted from interactions with North American and European ecologists, forest managers, and conservationists

A Long Watch offers a story of human complexity amid entrenched narratives of Sri Lanka's long civil war. Pulled from a dark ocean after a battle at sea, Commodore Boyagoda became the highest-ranking prisoner detained by the Tamil Tigers. For eight years, he lived at close quarters with his declared enemy, his imprisonment punctuated by high-level talks about his fate, but also by extended conversations with his jailers and scratch games of badminton played in jungle clearings. Throughout, he observed his captors and fellow prisoners acutely, and with discreet empathy for the lives of others undone by war.A memoir retold in Ajith Boyagoda's temperate voice, his is an unblinking relation of experiences difficult, moving and ironic. From going to sea, to war, imprisonment and eventual homecoming, he accepted successive realities as ordinary, in order to survive them.

Classical Approach to Constrained and Unconstrained Molecular Dynamics
In this book, we propose a penalty-function method for constrained molecular dynamics simulation by defining a quadratic penalty function for the constraints. The simulation with such a method can be done by using a conventional, unconstrained solver only with the penalty parameter increased in an appropriate manner as the simulation proceeds. More specifically, we scale the constraints with their force constants when forming the penalty terms.
