Alpine Brandopferplätze sind eine archäologische Fundgruppe im Alpenraum, deren Nachweis bis ins dritte vorchristliche Jahrtausend zurückreicht. Nach den archäologischen und zoologischen Untersuchungen der letzten Jahrzehnte wurde nun auch der pflanzliche Aspekt dieser vielfältigen und faszinierenden Kultstätten umfassend bearbeitet: Pflanzengroßreste von neun Brandopferplätzen wurden analysiert, um genauere Rückschlüsse auf die kulturellen und ökologischen Rahmenbedingungen der prähistorischen Opferriten in den Alpen zu ermöglichen. Trotz der teils ungünstigen Erhaltungsbedingungen konnten zahlreiche Pflanzenarten anhand ihrer verkohlten Reste nachgewiesen werden. Gemeinsam repräsentieren sie einen Ausschnitt des Speiseplans, der für den Alpenraum der Bronze- und der Eisenzeit bereits dokumentiert ist. Zusammen mit den zoologischen Daten zu den Tieropfern dokumentiert das Nutzpflanzenspektrum einen landwirtschaftlich geprägten Charakter der Riten: domestizierte Pflanzen und Tiere dominieren deutlich das Opfergut. Bei der Deckung des Brennholzbedarfs folgten die frühen Alpenbewohner offensichtlich pragmatischen Grundsätzen: verfeuert wurde meist, was gerade verfügbar war.

To accommodate these systems, the book not only provides circuit design techniques, but also validates them through experimental measurements. The book also includes a chapter tutorially describing four ART architectures (ART1, ARTMAP, Fuzzy-ART and Fuzzy-ARTMAP) while providing easily understandable MATLAB code examples to implement these four algorithms in software. In addition, an entire chapter is devoted to other potential applications for real-time data clustering and category learning.
