She is surprised when her hiding place is almost immediately invaded, but relieved when the intruder is not her cousin. This lighthearted variation on Pride and Prejudice explores the possibilities that could have resulted from a very different first encounter between Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet.

Chopping Wood, Shaping Metal and Other Erotic Stories
Most of the erotica in this volume was written between May of 2020 and February of 2021. A few pieces were revisions of older pieces, ones written between 2000 and 2014. As usual, some of the erotica is extreme. I write about the things that turn my lovers on, the things that turn me on. I write about BDSM, fetishes, and polyamory. I often write from my experience. When I am not writing from my experience, my characters inhabit my mind, my dreams and speak to me insistently until I write them. This collection includes a winter woodland story inspired by a Tiktok thirst trap, a smith story inspired by a trip to a Renaissance Faire, an homage to butch leather women, a story set on a train journey, one in a hair salon. There is poetry, prose and straight smut. Get comfortable and enjoy a peek into my erotic world.

Competency-Based Career Planning for Reference and User Services Professionals
Reference and user services librarians need to be in charge of their own careers. And when it comes to their own professional development, that means being proactive. This resource will enable professionals at every stage of their careers to honestly assess their skills and knowledge. Utilizing the RUSA (Reference and User Services Association) Professional Competencies as a framework for reflecting on strengths as well as gaps in expertise, it guides readers through developing strategies to enhance their professional standing and potential, thereby leading to a more satisfying career. In this book former RUSA president Whitlatch, who chaired the initial committee establishing the Competencies, teams up with expert trainer Woodard tointroduce the seven categories of the RUSA Professional Competencies, explaining the ways in which each is important to both practitioner and institution;demonstrate how to create a personal development plan that focuses on development priorities;discuss the Association for Talent Development (ATD) Competency Development Model and other action plans;offer guidance for setting goals and measuring progress;share information on a variety of development activities that readers can undertake to maintain and enhance professional competencies, including formal training opportunities, on-the-job experiences, and self-directed initiatives; andprovide recommended self-evaluation techniques such as writing up notes from group discussions, exercises, short verbal and written reports, crafting presentations on a topic, and sharing concrete examples of how skills were applied in the workplace. This book not only authoritatively tells practitioners, managers, students and educators what is expected of reference and user services librarians, but also points the way towards achieving those competencies.

E. M. (Buck) Schiwetz (1898–1984) could be called a “favorite son” among Texas artists working in the twentieth century. Schiwetz ranks among the state’s best-known early artists, having left behind an important body of iconic Texas imagery produced over a prodigious career spanning some seven decades. Educated as an architect at A&M College of Texas, he parlayed this training with natural acumen to become a consummate draftsman, prominent illustrator, and celebrated artist. In the mid-twentieth century, Schiwetz distinguished himself as an active participant in the rise of Texas art. As the Texas art scene experienced a period of dynamic growth and development, his artwork evolved across successive movements of Lone Star Impressionism, Regionalism, Modernism, and Expressionism. During his lifetime, the artwork of Buck Schiwetz arguably graced more publications than that of any other Texas artist. Featured in popular journals such as The Humble Way or published in the pioneering art books issued by academic presses at both the University of Texas and Texas A&M University, Schiwetz’s Texas imagery has long been employed to portray and celebrate Lone Star history and culture. The Artistic Legacy of Buck Schiwetz provides a long-overdue examination of this important Texas artist and his legacy: the first authoritative treatment of Schiwetz’s career as both fine artist and accomplished illustrator, and the first scholarly examination of his full body of work.
