Ancient Maya Cities of the Eastern Lowlands

Ancient Maya Cities of the Eastern Lowlands

For more than a century researchers have studied Maya ruins, and sites like Tikal, Palenque, Copan, and Chichen Itza have shaped our understanding of the Maya. Yet cities of the eastern lowlands of Belize, an area that was home to a rich urban tradition that persisted and evolved for almost 2,000 years, are treated as peripheral to these great Classic period sites. The hot and humid climate and dense forests are inhospitable and make preservation of the ruins difficult, but this oft-ignored area reveals much about Maya urbanism and culture. Using data collected from different sites throughout the lowlands, including the Vaca Plateau and the Belize River Valley, Brett Houk presents the first synthesis of these unique ruins and discusses methods for mapping and excavating them. Considering the sites through the analytical lenses of the built environment and ancient urban planning, Houk vividly reconstructs their political history, considers how they fit into the larger political landscape of the Classic Maya, and examines what they tell us about Maya city building.

God's Journey: On The Topics of Personal and Collective Evolution and the Meaning of Life
This book is not edited.God's Journey is probably the most important book Brett A.Rogers has written so far. It discusses the topics of personal and collective evolution, as well as provides steps to help us move in these directions. Many topics are just introduced with references and guidance for learning more provided, while others are discussed in more depth. The topics surrounding emotional and mental energies are revisited several times as important factors to optimizing our personal and collective evolution while other topics are being discussed. His statements regarding these energies are an eye opener to the importance of this part of reality that many of us only partially aware of.His comments are logical and religiously neutral. He does however discuss a perspective of reality that is commonly agreed upon by spiritually minded people. This perspective is not needed for his guidance on optimizing our personal and collective evolution, but it does set a simple foundation for his perspective on the Meaning of Life. This book, along with his others are valuable sources of information and guidance for living to our fullest potential as individuals and collectively.
The Psychic Anatomy Exercises: For Enhancing the Health and Performance of Your Psychic Anatomy and Physical Body
This book has not been edited. The Psychic Anatomy Exercises are a set of spiritual development exercises that are done in a meditative state to enhance the health and performance of your psychic anatomy (ex. chakras, aura, meridians, nadis, tan tien, hara and more). They are based on extensive research into traditional practices, scientific observation and of course experience. This enhances your emotional, mental and of course spiritual health and performance, giving you greater awareness and control of yourself and the psychic energies (aka. energy, chi) around you. Intuition is a special type of benefit that has tremendous advantages to the decision rich lifestyles many of us lead. Being more aware of your intuitive feelings helps you sense when something will or will not work before investing time and energy into trying.Your psychic anatomy interfaces with your physical body in many ways. This is the mind-body-spirit connection. As the health and performance of your psychic anatomy increases or decreases, your body reflects this. In general, the Psychic Anatomy Exercises enhances your health and performance by reducing the presence of unhealthy psychic energies within you and empowering the healthier ones; there are several ways in which it doe this. The Psychic Anatomy Exercises can be considered a modernized version of Qigong, Energy Healing, Tai Chi and some forms of Yoga. These changes are the result of the research and experiences of Brett A. Rogers, which are discussed in his book The Psychic Energy Reality. Mr. Rogers has published 3 books in total with more soon to be released.
