Much of the history of Western ethical thought has revolved around debates about what constitutes a good life, and claims that a good life is achievable only by certain human beings. In Feminist Philosophies of Life, feminist, new materialist, posthumanist, and ecofeminist philosophers challenge this tendency, approaching the question of life from alternative perspectives. Signalling the importance of distinctively feminist reflections on matters of shared concern, Feminist Philosophies of Life not only exposes the propensity of discourses to normalize and exclude differently abled, racialized, feminized, and gender nonconforming people, it also asks questions about how life is constituted and understood without limiting itself to the human. A collection of articles that focuses on life as an organizing principle for ontology, ethics, and politics, chapters of this study respond to feminist thinkers such as Gloria Anzaldua, Judith Butler, Adriana Cavarero, Simone de Beauvoir, Luce Irigaray, and Soren Kierkegaard. Divided into three parts, the book debates the question of life in and against the emerging school of new feminist materialism, provides feminist phenomenological and existentialist accounts of life, and focuses on lives marked by a particular precarity such as disability or incarceration, as well as life in the face of a changing climate. Calling for a broader account of lived experience, Feminist Philosophies of Life contains persuasive, original, and diverse analyses that address some of the most crucial feminist issues. Contributors include Christine Daigle (Brock University), Shannon Dea (University of Waterloo), Lindsay Eales (University of Alberta), Elizabeth Grosz (Duke University), Lisa Guenther (Vanderbilt University), Lynne Huffer (Emory University), Ada Jaarsma (Mount Royal University), Stephanie Jenkins (Oregon State University), Ladelle McWhorter (University of Richmond), Jane Barter Moulaison (University of Winnipeg), Astrida Neimanis (University of Sydney), Danielle Peers (University of Alberta), Stephen Seely (Rutgers University), Hasana Sharp (McGill University), Chloe Taylor (University of Alberta), Florentien Verhage (Washington and Lee University), Rachel Loewen Walker (Out Saskatoon), and Cynthia Willett (Emory University).

'You clung on to everything. Her things.' Veda and Bea haven't spoken since their dad's funeral; not since Bea scratched something obscene into the bonnet of Veda's cherished convertible. But one wet Tuesday morning, Veda shows up out of the blue on Bea's doorstep, determined to break down the walls built by so many things left unsaid. But before they can do that, there's the small matter of the physical walls Bea has surrounded herself with – walls made of newspapers, suitcases, cutlery, commodes, keyboards and hundreds, likely thousands, of bags-for-life... Chloë Lawrence-Taylor's play Personal Values is a perceptive, poignant and witty look at sisterhood and grief. It was first performed at Hampstead Theatre, London, in 2025, directed by Lucy Morrison.

Prissy Little Chloe: Time of the Year - Puppy Action-Adventure Cartoon Novel Welcome to a very different kind of dog book. For starters, this is not some made-up "say 'd' for 'dog'" book written for preschoolers. My dog seriously has it in for me At first she's all nipping and playing cute little chasing games with her puppy toy collection - then an hour later, when I try to teach her new tricks with little treats on the puppy's first Christmas, I realize there's no internet search that could do justice to raising, training, dealing with and trying to control this troublesome terrier Prissy Little Chloe is a Bestselling, my-first-puppy cartoon book series about a naughty Yorkie puppy and all the trouble she gets herself into This Yorkie puppy book in the series Prissy Little Chloe: Time of the Year centers on how I ended up with a rambunctious little troublemaker, after four years of begging for a puppy for my birthday and a puppy for Christmas - obsessing over "puppy images", "puppy photos", "puppies for sale" and "puppy breeds" like Malteses, Chihuahuas and Yorkies (see what I mean? Puppy everything ) - and after the puppy's first night home, her evolution from nice to naughty over the course of a few days Chloe always wants to be the center of attention; she makes up her own rules everyday - and gets herself into problems running through the neighborhood - setting me on a (literal ) wild goose chase, every single day, without fail. She slips through the gate in the yard or runs through the door when she gets the chance and then runs across the street into peoples' backyard, homes ... or into their car. Chloe is a mischievous little puppy, as troublesome as she is precious. Come and see what she's been up to in these funny, oddball days of trying to handle this little golden Yorkie pup From hilarious , to adorable - this cartoon novel is perfect to read together as a read-aloud or a first novel for developing and early readers to open all on their own "Prissy Little Chloe is a humorous, helpful read for any youngsters who want a puppy of their own. It introduces children to the responsibilities of caring for a dog as well as the purely fun parts of dog ownership.
