The goal of Can Every School Succeed is to aid school leaders in the process of transforming today’s schools. The book is based on principles that the authors have developed as school leaders through their experience in transforming low performing schools into high achieving schools. Many schools begin the transformation process only to fail because they do not identify and communicate the goals for change. As schools continue to struggle with the many complexities that they face, transformation is needed. In response to this, this book offers school leaders practical, transformation principles that will ensure the transformation process is simple, concise, and remains focused on creating the best learning environment for students.

David Woodman's classic reconstruction of the mysterious events surrounding the tragic Franklin expedition has taken on new importance in light of the recent discovery of the HMS Erebus wreck, the ship Sir John Franklin sailed on during his doomed 1845 quest to find the Northwest Passage to Asia. First published in 1991, Unravelling the Franklin Mystery boldly challenged standard interpretations and offered a new and compelling alternative. Among the many who have tried to discover the truth behind the Franklin disaster, Woodman was the first to recognize the profound importance of Inuit oral testimony and to analyze it in depth. From his investigations, Woodman concluded that the Inuit likely visited Franklin's ships while the crew was still on board and that there were some Inuit who actually saw the sinking of one of the ships. Much of the Inuit testimony presented here had never before been published, and it provided Woodman with the pivotal clue in his reconstruction of the puzzle of the Franklin disaster. Unravelling the Franklin Mystery is a compelling and impressive inquiry into a part of Canadian history that for one hundred and seventy years left many questions unanswered. In this edition, a new preface by the author addresses the recent discovery and reviews the work done in the intervening years on various aspects of the Franklin story, by Woodman and others, as it applies to the book's initial premise of the book that Inuit testimony holds the key to unlocking the mystery.

David's is an amazing life to study. Early on, I'd heard of all the good stuff he did, and that one time he messed up with Bathsheba. But reading his story up close reveals a whole lot more. This guy was a liar, a deceiver, a terrible dad, and he married too many women; he had a temper and pride and fearfulness, besides being an adulterer and a murderer How does a man like that earn such respect that God would call him "a man after my own heart" (Acts 13:22)? Why would the Lord honor David with being the most notable "type of Christ" in Scripture? How is it that Jesus would allow Himself to be known as "the Son of David"? The fact is, David was a flawed human like the rest of us. For all the strikes against him though, he had this one thing down: David loved the Lord. David didn't do everything right, but like you and I, he wanted to. And when confronted with his sins, David knew how to really repent In "David: From the Pasture to the Throne", we'll look at David's life verse by verse. This book is over 400 pages because David's life covers so much territory in the Bible. We meet him half way through I Samuel and read about him through the rest of that book, through the entire book of II Samuel, and into the first couple of chapters in I Kings Join me in this enjoyable study of the life of David. It's guaranteed to will bless your heart, build your faith, and lift you higher in your walk with God

The Puritan in the Enlightenment: Franklin and Edwards is a book written by David Levin that explores the lives and ideas of two prominent figures in American history: Benjamin Franklin and Jonathan Edwards. The book examines the tension between the Puritan and Enlightenment worldviews that shaped the lives and philosophies of these two men. Franklin, a self-made man and inventor, was a product of the Enlightenment, which emphasized reason, science, and individualism. Edwards, on the other hand, was a Puritan theologian who believed in the sovereignty of God and the importance of religious experience. The book delves into the historical context of the 18th century, a time of great change and upheaval in America, and explores how these two men navigated the shifting cultural landscape. Levin examines their writings, speeches, and personal lives to provide a comprehensive understanding of their beliefs and how they influenced American culture and politics. Overall, The Puritan in the Enlightenment: Franklin and Edwards is a thought-provoking and insightful analysis of two important figures in American history and their contributions to the development of American culture and identity. The Berkeley Series In American History. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
