This book explores the significance of the now-lost pavilion built in the Buckingham Palace Gardens in the time of Queen Victoria for understanding experiments in British art and architecture at the outset of the Victorian era. It introduces the curious history of the garden pavilion, its experimental contents, the controversies of its critical reception, and how it has been digitally remediated. The chapters discuss how the pavilion, decorated with frescos and encaustics by some of the most prominent painters of the mid-nineteenth century, became the center of a national conversation about an identity for British art, the capacity of its artists, and the quality of Royal and public taste.Beyond an examination of the pavilion's history, this book also introduces a digital model which restores the pavilion to virtual life, underscoring the importance of the pavilion for Victorian aesthetics and culture.

When it comes to frameworks, the familiar story of the elephant and the six blind philosophers seems to apply. As each philoso pher encountered a separate part of the elephant, each pronounced his considered, but flawed judgement. One blind philosopher felt a leg and thought it a tree. Another felt the tail and thought he held a rope. Another felt the elephant's flank and thought he stood before a wall. We're supposed to learn about snap judgements from this alle gory, but its author might well have been describing design automation frameworks. For in the reality of today's product development requirements, a framework must be many things to many people. xiv CAD Frameworks: Integration Technology for CAD As the authors of this book note, framework design is an optimi zation problem. Somehow, it has to be both a superior rope for one and a tremendous tree for another. Somehow it needs to provide a standard environment for exploiting the full potential of computer-aided engineering tools. And, somehow, it has to make real such abstractions as interoperability and interchangeability. For years, we've talked about a framework as something that provides application-oriented services, just as an operating system provides system-level support. And for years, that simple statement has hid the tremendous complexity of actually providing those services.

The personnel who operate remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) are crucial in the Air Force, but many in the RPA career field are dissatisfied, and it is difficult to train and retain enough pilots to meet the demand. To assist in building a healthy, sustainable RPA career field, RAND has developed a long-term RPA career field planning model. This report explains the model's main features, content, and data inputs and describes key technical aspects.

Imagine "Distant Drums" lying on your coffee table, not just a book but also a visual work of art. It's One Book You Can Judge By Its Cover "In African culture and tradition, one of the ancient functions of The Drums was to send messages, sometimes across great Distances. Today, drums still hold profound, spiritual, and venerable importance in the African way of life-on the continent and the diaspora. It is within this Ancient Tradition that David presents this book of Messages. Distant Drums "Conquering Lion Enterprise, Publishing.2021

With the country on the brink of World War III, a new president takes office to put forth new changes in military policies. Due to these policies and lack of health benefits General Holland dies. These changes have affected all branches of the armed forces and country as a whole. And at the rate things are going the military will soon no longer comply with their Commander and Chief. Four army rangers couldn't stand by and see everything they believe that was good and honorable, be shoved aside, because of Congress' approval of the President's Bill. That's when they took matters into their own hands. Some might call it treason; whereas, others might call it patriotism. You decide.

L'oeuvre de David l'Invincible et la transmission de la pensée grecque dans la tradition arménienne et syriaque
David, a member of the Platonic school in Alexandria in the sixth century, is credited with several commentaries on Aristotle’s logic: those commentaries, and their Armenian translations, form the subject of this book. An introduction, which discusses David and his place in the Greek and the Armenian traditions, is followed by a series of studies of the relations between the Greek texts and their Armenian translations: the aims are, first, to assess the value of the translations for the constitution of the original Greek, and secondly, to consider the ways in which the Armenian translations adapted the texts to suit their new readership. More generally, the book is concerned with the ways in which Greek thought was exported abroad—to Armenia and to Syria: it is required reading for anyone who is interested in the circulation of ideas between east and west. Contributors include: Sen Arevshatyan, Jonathan Barnes, Valentina Calzolari, Henri Hugonnard-Roche, Gohar Muradyan, Michael Papazian, Manea Shirinian, Clive Sweeting, Albert Stepanyan, Aram Topchyan.
