THERE WERE ONLY 3 MEN IN THE BIBLE GIVEN THE TITLE, SON OF DAVID. Solomon the heir to David's throne. Jesus the fulfillment to the covenant God made with David. And the third? Joseph, Jesus' father on earth. Why Joseph? Joseph was just a carpenter. Joseph was just an ordinary man. But God needed to draw out the king in Joseph so he could raise up the King of kings. God needed to draw out the king in Joseph so he could lead and serve his bride, Mary. Joseph's story is my story. It's your story. It's every man's story. God wants to draw out the king in every man to lead and serve his bride and to raise his children. Son of David will show you how a man who does not have a single recorded word in the Bible had a life that speaks volumes. Son of David will show you how to then allow the king in you to rise up so you too can become the noble, kingly, godly man God wants you to become.

In addition they dealt with silver mining, the filming of many big screen Hollywood movie productions, Catalina Pottery and Tile, 2,000 passenger steam ships, undersea garden trips, world class fishing, and much more. His historic career as an aviator made Charles Lindbergh one of the most famous men of the twentieth century, the subject of best-selling biographies and a hit movie, as well as the inspiration for a dance step--the Lindy Hop--that he himself was too shy to try. But for all the attention lavished on Lindbergh, one story has remained untold until now: his macabre scientific collaboration with Dr. Alexis Carrel. This oddest of couples--one a brilliant Nobel Prize-winning surgeon turned social engineer, the other a failed dirt farmer turned hero of the skies--joined forces in 1930 driven by a shared and secret dream: to conquer death and attain immortality.Part Frankenstein, part The Professor and the Madman, and all true, The Immortalists is the remarkable story of how two men of prodigious achievement and equally large character flaws challenged nature's oldest rule, with consequences--personal, professional, and political--that neither man anticipated.

Water at the Surface of Earth

Water at the Surface of Earth

Water at the Surface of the Earth: An Introduction to Ecosystem Hydrodynamics provides an introduction to the ways in which biological, physical, cultural, and urban systems at the surface of the earth operate, with a particular focus on the hydrodynamics of ecosystems, i.e., water and its association with other forms of matter, including pollutants, and with several forms of energy. The chapter sequence in this book follows the downward progress of water from the lower atmosphere, through ecosystems at the earth's surface, through the soil and mantle rock, to the ""waters under the earth."" In other words, the book begins with input of water to ecosystems, then describes how it is processed in these systems, and ends with the liquid water yield from them. The book first discusses storms in the atmosphere. These are systems that convert inflows of water vapor into outflows of raindrops and snowflakes that are precipitated to the underlying surface. This is followed by separate chapters on how water is delivered from the atmosphere to surface ecosystems; water budgets at the surface and in the soil; evaporation from these systems back to the atmosphere; water in the local air and rocks; and horizontal movement of water transformed by ecosystems where the preceding storages and fluxes were located.

Inside the Object Model serves two key functions: it teaches object-oriented analysis and design from first principles and clearly explains C++ mechanisms that implement object-oriented concepts. Drawing on nearly ten years of programming and teaching experience, Papurt thoroughly describes the relationship between the basic principles and concerns of object modeling and the C++ programming language. Each chapter uses independent examples to illustrate key concepts described in the text and features helpful icons that clearly identify important ideas and dangerous pitfalls. With over 100 figures, hundreds of working code examples, and comparisons of coding techniques, this book rewards the reader with a complete understanding of both C++ and the object model. Professional software analysts, designers, programmers, and advanced computer science students will benefit from reading this book.
