Una fibra di cristallo fotonico con distribuzioni periodiche dell'indice di rifrazione viene studiata per scopi di comunicazione ottica. La fibra di cristallo fotonico 2D stata progettata con un metodo di modellazione semplice che non richiede calcoli pesanti come il metodo degli elementi finiti (FEM) o il metodo del dominio del tempo delle differenze finite (FDTD). Poich il valore di d /pitch piccolo per realizzare la dispersione appiattita, sono necessari pi di 20 anelli di fori d'aria nella regione del cladding per ridurre significativamente la perdita di confinamento. Abbiamo progettato una fibra a cristalli fotonici con dispersione cromatica appiattita su un'ampia gamma di lunghezze d'onda, da 900 a 1800 nm, prendendo in considerazione d1, d2 e pitch.
