This book is nicely formatted with great pictures in black and white. My first poem I wrote was out at sea in the US Marines. I wrote it for my aunt when my uncle passed. I began to write more and more poetry over the years. My first poems were written as a hard core atheist. Sadly all those poems were lost as were many others in multiple computer crashes. At the age of 28 my life fell apart and destruction hit me from all sides. I looked up to the stars at night and I vowed to God if you can get me through these coming years of extreme difficulty I will be a preacher for you. That vow God answered with a return to my freedom, however, I must say I had originally fallen far short of God's glory. At first I said to myself I will be like Billy Graham and have a huge ministry and make lots of money. I paid that sin to the max. After prison I experienced even more mental insanity as well as extreme poverty. Through extreme hardships, insanity, anger, suicidal depression and overall emotional overload, I compiled a book of Christian poetry which I originally published here on Amazon. Still something was missing. I worked hard giving away the greater half of my poems to people that needed spiritual healing. People say I am extremely talented in poetry but all glory goes to Lord Jesus Christ. These poems appeal to all ages and are written for both men and women. All of the poems are written from the heart. If you struggle or are going through deep depression this book is for you. I have poems about God's love for you, as well as poems about love in relationships, and lost loves, even in death. I have a Thanksgiving poem and poems for bringing newborns into this world, as well as Christmas poems that celebrate LORD Jesus Christ. If you are a Christian or a person who just likes good poetry, or even someone that hates poetry this book is for you. In my life I have suffered at the hand of Satan for well over two decades. While I tried to give my books away for free on the internet no one was reading them at least no one that I know of. Since 1998 I first got in trouble and I started writing for the LORD God Almighty. It is an interesting story in how I used my GI Bill to help me earn my AA in General Education at Shasta College in Redding California. I worked hard to earn that degree which I planned to finish my role playing game, "The World of Total Chaos." I wanted to be the best role playing game designer ever, but that silly season ended as soon as Satan retracted his golden hand. What I failed to do as an ungodly atheist I later succeeded as a strong Christian. Though my life wasn't about high ranking websites, big book sales, or preaching in pulpits I succeeded the day I accepted Christ into my life amen. I know you will love this poetry book as my poetry is not like other poets. I write from the heart and with Christ's love with an anointing only God can give. I have created a beautiful masterpiece that without God I could never have came to this high point in my life.

I wrote Stop the Violence after being in jail and prison. I saw all the terrible things happening and wanted to find a way to keep people from becoming convicts and direct them to God and the Bible. This book speaks of the many problems illegal drugs can create in our lives. There are serious problems that addictions bind so many in these chains. I wanted to write a book to teens and adults that would cause people to think before getting into drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, and the crimes that seem to come with addictions. Even pornography, and sex addictions can ruin marriages, families, and lives. When I was in prison I told one of my doctors I wanted to build a website and books that would help teens and adults and steer them away from addictive behaviors. They all laughed at me and told me I could never do that. For nearly two decades I ran into road block after road block being stopped at every turn. Now the turn is headed right straight to Jesus because I chose his ways. Friend if you know someone who is struggling whether it is a child or whomever this book will help. I am hoping this book, though Christian in content can make it into schools as well. All praise and glory of these books be to my God who gave me the eyes to write, and fingers to type. I have had both my hands and eyes under attack. Also there were strange software and computer problems that I knew were because Satan doesn't want what I am doing. While God healed my hands, he also healed my eyes from glaucoma. Amen

"Love" was the hardest book ever for me to write. "Love" was also my favorite book I have ever written. I started "Love" in 2007 and put the finishing touches on it in 2020. "Love" took every bit of emotion out of me to finish. At one time during another computer crash I lost all but the pdf file and it was nearly impossible to convert back to an editable format. I was so overwhelmed with suicidal depression, anger and insanity I felt God did not love me anymore. I assure you this much; God is love and He loves you so much. For me at that time I had to wonder if there was even love in this world and so I had to put "Love" down. In early 2017 I realized God supplied all my basic needs. God kept a roof over my head, food in the trailer, and kept me at the mission when I was homeless for a month. I owe extreme gratitude to God, my family, and to Jesus Christ who saved me from my sins and set me on the road leading to everlasting life. God knows my suffering though I know others have lost so much more. This book is to those that are suffering and those in a prison both in reality and those bound in Satan's grips of depression or mental illness. This book is written for the healing of the soul. This book talks of the love between man and woman and compares it to the LOVE our God has for us. Over the years I learned as the Apostle Paul spoke that here abides faith, hope, and love, but the greatest of these is love. I have come back to this book several times over the years to add more pages and make changes but I assure you God's love is the same and He hasn't lost his love for you.

With Lee in Virginia, A Story of the American Civil War (1890) is a book by British author G.A. Henty. It was published by Blackie and Son Ltd, London. Henty's character, Vincent Wingfield, fights for the Confederate States of America, even though he is against slavery. As suggested by the title, he is primarily with the Army of Northern Virginia. Henty's novel has been cited by some literary historians as an example of British right-wingers' sympathy for the Confederate cause; discussing With Lee in Virginia, Jeffrey Richards cites the book as "significantly pro-Southern".Henty defends slavery throughout the novel, stating although slavery was capable of "abominable" cruelty under brutal masters, "..taken all in all, the negroes on a well-ordered estate, under kind masters, were probably a happier class of people than the laborers upon any estate in Europe." At the novel's end, Henty has the Wingfield family's former slaves return and continue working for their former owners: The negroes, however, for the most part remained steadily working on the estate. A few wandered away, but their places were easily filled; for the majority of the freed slaves very soon discovered that their lot was a far harder one than it had been before, and that freedom so suddenly given was a curse rather than a blessing to them. Richards cites the novel as an example of Henty's belief in the "incapacity" of blacks and notes that With Lee In Virginia argues that "a system of slavery is acceptable so long as the slave owners treat their slaves decently and humanely". Nathaniel Cadle claims With Lee in Virginia's plot works to "romanticize and oversimplify the relationship between white Confederate slave owners and their black chattel." The book has been lauded by the right-wing, Neo-Confederate magazine Southern Partisan, who described With Lee in Virginia as "the sort of book Southern Partisan readers ought to pass on to their own sons. The politics of sectional conflict aren't oversimplified, but the bias is one Southern Partisan readers are likely to applaud". Gordon Frederick Browne (15 April 1858 - 27 May 1932) was an English artist and children's book illustrator in the late 19th century and early 20th century. He was born in Banstead, the younger son of notable book illustrator Hablot Knight Browne (who as "Phiz" illustrated books by Charles Dickens). He studied art at the Heatherley School of Fine Art and South Kensington Schools and started to receive professional commissions while still at college. From the 1880s, Browne was one of Britain's most prolific illustrators, his work appearing in newspapers, magazines and many books by children's authors including Frederic William Farrar, G.A. Henty, Juliana Horatia Ewing, Andrew Lang, Talbot Baines Reed, L. T. Meade, Catherine Christian and E. Nesbit. Browne worked in watercolour and pen and ink. He was a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours (RI) and the Royal Society of British Artists (RBA). He died in Richmond, London in 1932.

In early May 1864, Lieutenant General Ulysses S. Grant initiated a drive through central Virginia to crush Robert E. Lee's Confederate Army of Northern Virginia. For forty days, the armies fought a grinding campaign from the Rapidan River to the James River that helped decide the course of the Civil War. Several of the war's bloodiest engagements occurred in this brief period: the Wilderness, Spotsylvania Court House, the North Anna River, Totopotomoy Creek, Bethesda Church, and Cold Harbor. Pitting Grant and Lee against one another for the first time in the war, the Overland Campaign, as this series of battles and maneuvers came to be called, represents military history at its most intense. In the Footsteps of Grant and Lee, a unique blend of narrative and photographic journalism from Gordon C. Rhea, the foremost authority on the Overland Campaign, and Chris E. Heisey, a leading photographer of Civil War battlefields, provides a stunning, stirring account of this deadly game of wits and will between the Civil War's foremost military commanders. Here Grant fought and maneuvered to flank Lee out of his heavily fortified earthworks. And here Lee demonstrated his genius as a defensive commander, countering Grant's every move. Adding to the melee were cavalry brawls among the likes of Philip H. Sheridan, George A. Custer, James Ewell Brown ""Jeb"" Stuart, and Wade Hampton. Forty days of combat produced horrific casualties, some 55,000 on the Union side and 35,000 on the Confederate. By the time Grant crossed the James and began the Siege of Petersburg, marking an end to this maneuver, both armies had sustained significant losses that dramatically reduced their numbers.Rhea provides a rich, fast-paced narrative, movingly illustrated by more than sixty powerful color images from Heisey, who captures the many moods of these hallowed battlegrounds as they appear today. Heisey made scores of visits to the areas where Grant and Lee clashed, giving special attention to lesser-known sites on byways and private property. He captures some of central Virginia's most stunning landscapes, reminding us that though battlefields conjure visions of violence, death, and sorrow, they can also be places of beauty and contemplation. Accompanying the modern pictures are more than twenty contemporary photographs taken during the campaign or shortly afterwards, some of them never before published. At once an engaging military history and a vivid pictorial journey, In the Footsteps of Grant and Lee offers a fresh vision of some of the country's most significant historic sites.
Lee's Army during the Overland Campaign

Lee's Army during the Overland Campaign

The initial confrontation between Union general Ulysses S. Grant and Confederate general Robert E. Lee in Virginia during the Overland Campaign has not until recently received the same degree of scrutiny as other Civil War battles. The first round of combat between the two renowned generals spanned about six weeks in May and early June 1864. The major skirmishes- Wilderness, Spotsylvania, and Cold Harbor- rivaled any other key engagement in the war. While the strength and casualties in Grant's army remain uncontested, historians know much less about Lee's army. Nonetheless, the prevailing narrative depicts Confederates as outstripped nearly two to one, and portrays Grant suffering losses at a rate nearly double that of Lee. As a result, most Civil War scholars contend that the campaign proved a clear numerical victory for Lee but a tactical triumph for Grant. Questions about the power of Lee's army stem mainly from poor record keeping by the Confederates as well as an inordinate number of missing or lost battle reports. The complexity of the Overland Campaign, which consisted of several smaller engagements in addition to the three main clashes, led to considerable historic uncertainty regarding Lee's army. Significant doubts persist about the army's capability at the commencement of the drive, the amount of reinforcements received, and the total of casualties sustained during the entire campaign and at each of the major battles. In Lee's Army during the Overland Campaign, Alfred C. Young III addresses this deficiency by providing for the first time accurate information regarding the Confederate side throughout the conflict. The results challenge prevailing assumptions, showing clearly that Lee's army stood far larger in strength and size and suffered considerably higher casualties than previously believed.

This book presents the myriad issues of sustainable urbanism in a clear and concise system, and supports holistic thinking about sustainable development in urban environments. It explores four broad measures of urban sustainability that differ radically from other, less long-lived patterns: these are Lifecycle, Aesthetics, Scale, and Technology (LAST). This book is a unique perspective on architecture, urban planning, environmental and urban design, exploring ways for raising quality of life and the standard of living in a new modern era by creating better and more viable places to live. This book will find wide readership particularly among students and young practitioners in architecture and planners.
