The 18th century was a wealth of knowledge, exploration and rapidly growing technology and expanding record-keeping made possible by advances in the printing press. In its determination to preserve the century of revolution, Gale initiated a revolution of its own: digitization of epic proportions to preserve these invaluable works in the largest archive of its kind. Now for the first time these high-quality digital copies of original 18th century manuscripts are available in print, making them highly accessible to libraries, undergraduate students, and independent scholars.Delve into what it was like to live during the eighteenth century by reading the first-hand accounts of everyday people, including city dwellers and farmers, businessmen and bankers, artisans and merchants, artists and their patrons, politicians and their constituents. Original texts make the American, French, and Industrial revolutions vividly contemporary.++++The below data was compiled from various identification fields in the bibliographic record of this title. Control of illegal drug use and abuse requires an elaborate network of organizations and professions: medical, legal, political, educational, and welfare. This book, first published in 1984, explores the way in which these diverse sectors coordinate the control of deviance in a complex society and how they respond to a sudden widespread increase in deviance spanning many institutional and professional domains. The latter of these concerns, James Beniger argues, affords us a unique insight into the more general question of societal control. He takes as an example of this phenomenon the dramatic appearance of the 'drug problem' in America in the Vietnam war era of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Exploiting this as an approximation of an experimentally induced disruption of society, Professor Beniger examines its impact on the interorganizational and professional networks that together constitute a system for the control of a social deviance.

Our Government was founded as a democratic Republic and the US Constitution was established to ensure the majority of citizen's were represented in Washington and to protect the minority. Unfortunately, our Republic has been effectively replaced with a two-party system of government that is a purely partisan democracy. The result is that little is done for the majority of the citizens. The majority of the population, those commonly referred to as "The Silent Majority", are no longer represented in Washington. I further believe that the time has come for a third political party to be formed that will represent them and force compromise. This book was written about the establishment, and rise, of a new third political party that succeeds in breaking the partisan gridlock and unleashing America's potential.
Jim Duncan made a fortune building a community for the rich. While Tara Estates was a financial success, it was a major disappointment to him. Tara's character developed into a complaining and mean-spirited community. When the development was completed, Jim and his partner, Frank Wells, moved to Florida to build a dream city for low and middle-income people. It was developed to be good quality, feature rich and lower priced than other homes in the area.Jim wanted it to be anchored by a retirement community as its primary source of income. He vowed to keep all prices as low as possible. To accomplish this, he built the entire city business infrastructure with his own money and city businesses would operate on a near non-profit basis. From the outset, Jim encountered challenge after challenge, some of them dangerous. Undaunted, Jim forged ahead. He often wondered, if he finally got it built, what kind of character this city would have.He dedicated himself to promote brotherly love and mutual respect regardless of race, nationality, religion or sexual preference. The questions were; would he be able to complete it and what kind of city would this one become?
The hunter was dragged into Edna Jackson's house riddled with shotgun pellets imbedded into his back, butt, arms and head and bleeding everywhere. He was also unconscious. Edna was a nurse so she couldn't do anything but try and keep him alive and nurse him back to health. He had no identification, watch or valuables of any kind. When he regained consciousness, he didn't know who he was. Doc Wilson said that he had amnesia.Edna was supposed to leave after her mother's funeral but the hunter had no idea where he came from. Edna had no choice except to stay with him and try to get his memory back. She committed herself to see this through, wherever it led or how much time it took.
