During their adventures they make friends, and with those friends they learn how to communicate using technology but doing so safely. There is a hidden family element to the book as well. The friends aren't just other animals but kids as well, therefore they feel the need as superheroes to watch over them. The other hidden part of the story is these dogs were adopted, while not said, it's insinuated. Their mother is the Lady of the Torch, which is where patriotism begins. The educational elements cover math and history along with some cultural aspects about traditions during various holidays. There are also some elements where different language sentences are used to show the importance of learning to be bilingual as the child pursues growth. In short, it's a humorous book, fictional and nonfictional in some cases, that shows a kid can be a kid but do so safely while learning about different cultures and different people. About the AuthorJeff T. Seymour is an engineer, working for a worldwide telecommunication and entertainment company. He has fifteen patents to date and currently works in cyber security. During his career he's traveled the country and globe as part of his job and learned about many different cultures.As for community involvement, two friends along with Seymour sponsor a battered women's home. They work closely with local law enforcement and shelters to move these women and children into this home for their safety so that they can get necessary counseling.For hobbies, he collects stuff from yard sales, insurance claims, etc. and sends them to a store where the aforementioned home resides. This stuff is placed in a retail facility owned by one his friends and all proceeds pays for the home. This is how they self-financed the home and counseling.Seymour has three kids: two girls and a boy. One is married, the other just graduated from college, and his youngest, the boy, just graduated from military school and is looking to go to college.His interests span different areas. He's a businessman with investments in food trucks and restaurant as well as a general contracting business. In both businesses each of his dear friends share his common beliefs. Those beliefs are founded on safety, equality, customer service, brand equity, and last but not least-fun. You have to love what you do.

Many decades after Darwin's death, finally enough facts about biology and evolution have been uncovered with which one can relatively easily complete the second and missing half of the theory of evolution that Darwin could not possibly have seen in his time. The evidence has been mounting for years that the "selfish gene" paradigm is not adequate to explain all of what is observed in the world around us-in particular, sex and aging. This book attempts to complete the theory of evolution by using a simple new concept of predator selection, a form of species selection, to solve the most enduring and intractable conundrums and paradoxes that have been plaguing evolutionary theory since its beginning- such as the existence and purpose of sex and aging, male and female sex types, and even homosexuality. Written in an entertaining and easy to understand style for scientists and laymen alike, this expanded view of evolution leads to many solutions to evolution's remaining paradoxes. One chapter includes a detailed examination of how various human hormones change with aging, and how the "good" hormones decline with age, and how the "bad" hormones intentionally designed by evolution to stop one from reproducing, skyrocket after age 50. (These anti-reproduction (pro-menopause) hormone changes have the unfortunate side effect of aging and death). \ Sex and aging have never had any satisfactory explanation within the Selfish Gene paradigm begun by Darwin and his successors and popularized by Dawkins in his famous book-"The Selfish Gene." Aging and Sex are shown to be evolution's evolved defenses to evolving predation, and in the absence of predation, they are proposed to be eventually selected against -leading to a world where most sexual species eventually should evolve into asexual ones. As odd as this might sound, examples of many types of animals where asexual reproduction already occurs are provided. Including animals as advanced as turkeys, sharks, and lizards. Exclusively female species that reproduce solely in a clonal manner such as walking sticks, blind cave crickets, whiptail lizards, and Brahminy blind snakes are also explored. Homosexuality, while a widespread phenomenon in both humans and many species of animals, remains largely unexplored by current evolutionary theory. Homosexuality is examined within this new framework and hypothesized to be a defense against evolving predation that acts as birth control for what evolution perceives as less fit (predator-stressed) mothers. Even human religion seems to reveal itself as an evolved trait within this new paradigm and appears to have evolved as a group defense to famine and drought. Religion is explored and explained with a special emphasis on the high rate of religious suicide associated with various religions and cults. Sex and aging appear to be species-selected defenses to evolving predation that are being selected for at the local ecosystem level virtually everywhere and all the time. When sex and aging are viewed from this perspective, it becomes quite simple to understand how sex and aging evolved and continue to be selected for in almost all areas of the world.

TROUBLE SONGS: A Musicological Poetics is a hybrid serial work that tracks the appearance of the word "trouble" in 20th- and 21st-century American music. It reads (and sings) songs and poems, with reference to cultural events ranging from the death of a pop singer to the growth of popular resistance movements. The trouble singer invokes the word "trouble" in place of actual trouble-the song is a spell that conjures trouble (from bad luck and disaffection to infidelity, impotence, destitution, and the specter of death) in a temporary form that can be dis-spelled, if only for the length of the song. Singer and song also open a critical space for making trouble, for stirring the heart and mind. This space is a disjunction in time (and a superimposition of events) where singer and listener collaborate on meaning (un/)making as they temporarily transform trouble.TROUBLE SONGS enacts its poetics with the use of footnote and body text as modular, contiguous, and porous fields of writing and imagination, a corollary for overlapping singer/listener roles. In effect, the footnotes sing along with (and trouble) each chapter, providing chorus and counterpoint to these Trouble Songs, as the compositional horizon between body and notes rises and falls. These cultural investigations suggest that the way we sing about trouble, and the way we receive those songs and cultural transmissions, says much about what preoccupies us spiritually and intellectually-what moves us and disturbs us, brings us together even as we keep some things to ourselves.
