Born in South Carolina, White spent his childhood as a lead boy for traveling blind bluesmen. In the early '30s he moved to New York and became a popular blues star, then introduced folk-blues to a mass white audience in the 1940s. He was famed both for his strong Civil Rights songs, which made him a favorite of the Roosevelts, and for his sexy stage persona. The king of Café Society-also home to Billie Holiday--he was the one bluesman to consistently pack the New York nightspots, and the first black singer-guitarist to act in Hollywood films and star on Broadway. In the 1950s, White's bitter compromise with the blacklisters left him with few friends on either end of the political spectrum. He spent much of the decade in Europe, then came back strong in the 1960s folk revival. By 1963, he was voted one of America's top three male folk stars, but his health was failing and he did not survive the decade. Written in an engaging style, Society Blues portrays the difficult balancing act that all black performers must face in a predominantly white culture. Through the twists and turns of White's life, it traces the evolution of the blues and folk revival, and is a must read for anyone interested in the history of American popular culture, as well as a fascinating life story. What could go wrong...or right?Detective Josh Walker has been walking a tightrope, suspended between his deepest desires and what he feels people expect from him. Add an embarrassing condition and a punishing job, and it's a recipe for disaster. With twenty odd years between himself and Josh, he knows it's a pipe dream. At least, that's what he thinks until a night at The Grove, the city's premier BDSM club, brings him up close and personal with Josh...and throws in a wild card in the form of one smoking hot -if kind of short- blonde dom. Then, suddenly, he can't get either man out of his head.Meanwhile, Max Dalton's been telling himself that he messed up with Josh six years ago and he isn't going to repeat those mistakes. Besides, he's a dom, not a Daddy. How could that even work? But when he finds himself playing co-Daddy with Emmett -smoking hot counsellor extraordinaire- Reid for a night, a whole world of possibilities open up before his eyes. Will Josh believe that he deserves not only one Daddy, but two? How on earth are they going to manage a three-way friends-to-lovers relationship anyway? And, worse, what is Charlie -Josh's brother, Max's former partner, and Emmett's boss- going to say CW - Buckle up: for a ridiculously sweet MMM romance, this one has a few trigger warnings. While this is a low-angst, sweet & cute, instant-attraction romance, this book contains brief mentions of gun violence, kidnapping/abduction, guilt complexes, middle-child inadequacy, insecurity, anxiety, nightmares, bed wetting, and panic attacks. This book is an MMM Age Play/Age Regression romance between consenting adults and does include ABDL and wetting. This book contains elements that are suitable for ages 18 and over.
