Slægtskrønikken "Efter Juliane" er delvis fiktion, men samtidig erindringer og overleveringer gennem min egen slægt, gennem mere end 100 år. Mange af personerne har levet, ligesom flere af episoderne er sket i virkeligheden. Jeg har selv navne og ansigter på størstedelen af personerne i bogen. Således begynder bogen med brylluppet mellem Juliane Piil og Anders Hedeboe, en septemberdag i 1880 - mine oldeforældre. Lokationen er et lille landsogn i Himmerland, hvor det unge par begynder deres liv på "Lille Bækgaard" som bliver 3. generationers fødehjem. Efterhånden bevæger personeren sig ud i verden, hvilket får sine konsekvenser, ligesom 2.Verdenskrig også spiller en rolle. Bogen er præget af datidens normer og skikke, samt enkelte passager med egnens dialekt . Bogen følger dagligagen, slægtens gang, deres glæder og sorger for det mest med "Lille Bækgaard" som udgangspunkt.

Mit dieser Edition werden bislang unbekannte franzosischsprachige Briefe Juliane Franziska von Buchwalds, Erste Hofdame bei Luise Dorothea von Sachsen-Gotha-Altenburg, erstmals in einer kommentierten deutschen Ubersetzung vorgelegt. Unter dem Deckmantel von Besorgtheit um ihre Mutter Frau von Neuenstein, Erzieherin am Hof von Wurttemberg, eroffnete sie im Sommer 1738 eine Korrespondenz mit Christoph Dietrich von Keller. Der stand als Jurist und Gesandter Wurttembergs am Wiener Hof kurz vor einer seiner zahlreichen politischen Missionen, fur die sich nicht nur Sachsen-Gotha-Altenburg interessierte. Die Briefe der sich selbst als Agentin bezeichnenden Buchwald begleiten mit immer raffinierterer Chiffrierung, eingebettet in eine choreografierte Kommunikationsstrategie die Zeit des Osterreichischen Erbfolgekriegs. Die Korrespondenz der schon von Zeitgenossen als brillante Briefschreiberin Geruhmten mit Keller erlosch 1750 kurz vor dessen Anstellung als Gothaer Geheimer Rat und infolge der fast vollstandigen Erblindung der Buchwald nach einer misslungenen Augenoperation.
