The Canadian Mountain Assessment provides a first-of-its-kind look at what we know, do not know, and need to know about mountain systems in Canada. The assessment is based on insights from First Nations, Métis, and Inuit knowledges of mountains, as well as findings from an extensive assessment of pertinent academic literature. Its inclusive knowledge co-creation approach brings these multiple forms of evidence together in ways that enhance our collective understanding of mountains in Canada, while also respecting and maintaining the integrity of different knowledge systems. The Canadian Mountain Assessment is a text-based document, but also includes a variety of visual materials as well as access to video recordings of oral knowledges shared by Indigenous individuals from mountain areas in Canada. The assessment is the result of over three years of work, during which time the initiative played an important role in connecting and cultivating relationships between mountain knowledge holders from across Canada. It is the outcome of contributions from more than 80 Indigenous and non-Indigenous individuals and contains six chapters:IntroductionMountain EnvironmentsMountains as HomelandsGifts of the MountainsMountains Under PressureDesirable Mountain FuturesBy way of these chapters, the Canadian Mountain Assessment aims to enhance appreciation for the diversity and significance of mountains in Canada, to clarify challenges and opportunities for mountain systems in the country, and to motivate and inform new research, relationships, and actions that support the realization of desirable mountain futures. More broadly, the Canadian Mountain Assessment provides insights into applied reconciliation efforts in a knowledge assessment context and seeks to inspire similar knowledge co-creation efforts in and beyond Canada.

An uncanny understanding of both city-council operations and the newspaper business some thirty years ago gave Leonard Sanders the ability to write this powerful novel about a small Texas city and the men who run it. Sanders has combined the struggle for power in a local city government and the human interest side of its effects on the people close to the inside in an appealing and revealing story centered around an ambitious water project designed to further the city's growth. Different views about the future of the city arise from the personalities of those who must decide. Some council men, like local businessman Max Berger, put their own agenda before what should be done for the city. Others, like Dr. Travis McNeil and wealthy rancher Cal Masters, have the city's best interest at heart and must stand their ground to fight for what they believe is right. By working through the plans for city expansion, the men who sit around the horseshoe-shaped council table come to realize the strains that they have been under from their work with the council. City Manager David Hartwell knows that the many hours he spends in the office have affected his family and have caused the problems that they are facing. In the same way, newspaper reporter Tom Kencaide finds that his commitment to covering the council and exposing the truth has kept him from committing to his fiancee and reporting the news he feels the people should hear. The Wooden Horseshoe, first published by Doubleday in 1964, shows that city government can consume the ones who take part in it. Those involved have to decide if they can reach a point where they do what is best for the city as well as for themselves.

Developing New Products and Services: Learning, Differentiation, and Innovation
This outstanding contribution to market research focuses on the upfront activities and ideas for new product and service development. A central theme of this book is that there is, or should be, a constant struggle going on in every organization, business, and system between delivering feature-rich versions of products and services using extravagant engineering and delivering low-cost versions of products and services using frugal engineering.A number of powerful concepts and tools are presented in the book to facilitate new product development. For example, three templates are featured that facilitate new product and service development. The FAD (features, attributes, and design) template is used to identify the features and attributes that can be used for product and service differentiation. The Ten–Ten planning process contains two templates: an Organizational and Industry Analysis template and the Business Plan Overview template. These two templates coupled with the FAD template can be used to develop a full-blown business plan.Entrepreneurship, technology and product life cycles, product and service versioning, product line optimization, creativity, lock-in real options, business valuation, and project management topics are also covered.

To rejuvenate her perspective, Ruth has set out to search, absorbing the alchemy nearby grasslands purvey, transforming her outlook in taking notice of rhapsody in all things as they characterize a universal nature to pass away. Rather than rummaging on with the sacred texts to behold what every seeker should endeavor to find, she'll wager the giggling absurdity into looping madness, obliterating pride, teetering breathless at the edge of death, loosening grip on the mind. The questions are of an order so tall, leading to more, the mystery enthralls. Try as she may, she won't cut one head off of the Hydra and see the rest fall. Scratching to alleviate her mind from its tedium and self-doubt, the actualization of her longing blossomed among the vegetation's serene green pastures where life is free to roam around and throughout. The mushroom is harmless, but the mind may believe in its fatality. The insight becomes clear to her: amnesia is the drug of duality.

The book takes off with a general overview which is an introduction to urban studies and urbanisation. The next chapter is an analysis of the patterns of urbanisation which are essential for an understanding of the internal structure and development of towns in Cameroon. Furthermore, the spatial distribution and growth strength of towns in Cameroon is examined followed by discussions on urban hierarchy and the sub-urbanisation process of the country since 1976. The focus turns to the features linked to urbanisation in Cameroon and the growth prospects of selected towns in the country. There is a chapter on the overview of cities in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). The book wraps up with a chapter on sustainable urbanisation in Cameroon in view to address some of the concerns of the millennium development goals.

Bloke of All Ages is an expansive reflection that offers refreshing new insights into the works of one of South Africa's most important literary, intellectual and artistic figures, William Bloke Modisane. Born in Sophiatown, Modisane was a remarkable author, playwright and actor, and a leading member of the DRUM generation in the 1950s. The contributors trace Modisane's intellectual and cultural journey from his early years in South Africa to his exile in the United Kingdom, East Africa, North America, Italy, the German Democratic Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany. Through a comprehensive and diverse exploration of Modisane's body of work, they offer critical literary essays on his early short stories, his autobiography Blame Me on History, his journalism as well as his writings while in exile. The volume also includes little-known and previously unpublished essays by Modisane, written during his time in exile. Bloke of All Ages highlights the relevance and resilience of Modisane's intellectual and cultural contribution by situating his work in the broader historic context of South African creative arts.

In this funny, charming, and oh-so-relatable picture book, meet a young bunny named Lawrence who is determined to decide what he wears--or doesn't wear. Ever since he was a tiny bunny, Lawrence's mother has dressed him up in all the most fashionable clothes--the brightest colors and the most interesting styles. Lawrence wears homemade sweater suits. And inflatible helium balloon pants. The only problem? Lawrence hates wearing clothes and longs to hop naked through the fields--just like all the other bunnies. So Lawrence comes up with an ingenious plan to turn the tables on his mother. Ultimately, the mother-son duo devise a way to put their considerable creative talents to use, in a way that makes both of them happy. In this picture book that's perfect for Easter and year round, kids will laugh out loud at (and understand ) Lawrence's quest for independence, just as parents will identify with how hard it is to let go of your one-and-only special bunny....
