Tämä juhlakirja on omistettu kansleri, siviilioikeuden professori Leena Kartiolle hänen täyttäessään 70 vuotta elokuun 30. päivänä 2008. Leena tunnetaan erityisesti monikymmenvuotisesta ansiokkaasta toiminnastaan siviilioikeuden tutkijana ja opettajana. Lisäksi hänen uraansa ovat kuuluneet merkittävät yliopisto- ja tiedehallinnon tehtävät sekä erilaiset asiantuntijatehtävät ja luottamustoimet myös yliopistomaailman ulkopuolella. Monissa näistä tehtävistä hän on ikäpolven muiden aktiivisten naisten tapaan ollut sukupuolensa ensimmäinen edustaja.
Eeva-Leena Eklund (s. 1972. Pori) on suomalainen taidemaalari, jonka teosten aiheet kumpuavat arjesta ja sen havainnoinnista. Hän kääntää raikkaasti päälaelleen ajatukset maalauksen vakavuudesta, uskottavista aiheista tai kuvan rakenteeseen liittyvistä säännöistä. Tämä julkaisu sisältää artikkelit näyttelyn kuraattorilta Anna Tuorilta, sekä taiteilija Deirdre Loguelta, jotka teksteissään luovat näkökulmia Eeva-Leena Eklundin työhön ja tärkeisiin inspiraation lähteisiin sekä sukeltavat syvälle Eklundin oivallusten maailmaan. Eeva-Leena Eklund :) on kolmas näyttely Saastamoisen säätiön ja EMMAn yhteisessä komissionäyttelyisen sarjassa. Näyttely EMMAssa 28.10.2020-22.8.2021.
Letti-Leenan perhe joutui kulkemaan sodan takia eri paikoissa, ennen kuin löytyi uusi, oma koti. Silloin ei koskaan oltu niin kauan samassa paikassa, että olisi ehtinyt tutustua muihin lapsiin. Ja perheet ja sukulaisetkin joutuivat niin kauas toisistaan, ettei edes serkkuja tavannut kuin joskus harvoin.Eräänä aamuna Leena näki kiviaidan päällä pojan istumassa. Pojalla oli tumma tukka ja ystävälliset kasvot. Hän hymyili ja heilutti Leenalle, ja Leena heilutti ujosti takaisin. -Tule meille leikkimään, poika huusi. Arkaillen Leena meni suureen taloon ja kohtasi siellä monta ihmeellistä asiaa. Mutta siitä alkoi Letti-Leenan ja Jussin ystävyys, eikä Leenan enää tarvinnut tuntea oloaan yksinäiseksi.
Lämpöverho laskeutui. Oli kesä. Täälläkin syötetään oravia Mary-Leenan puutarhassa. Syttyy valo ja puhetta, pilkahtelee Platon ja Pynchon. Jokainen sananlyönti vie takaisin kotikieleen, jonka Veijo Meri aloitti. Koti-Hemingway kertoo ihmissuhteista.
Laukku-Leena, naiskulkurin tarinaUutuuselämäkerta Laukku-Leena, naiskulkurin tarina ilmestyy lokakuussa 2024. Kirja perustuu Leena Kiviharjun (1948-2021) ainutlaatuisiin matkapäiväkirjoihin. Kirjan on koostanut jämsäläinen toimittaja-kirjailija Päivi Ketolainen."Laukku-Leenaksi kutsutun naisen matkanteko kuulostaa suoranaiselta survival game -peliltä, josta hän kuitenkin selvisi hengissä lähes 20 vuotta", kirjailija kertoo.Kiviharju kulki kymmenine laukkuineen ympäri Suomea kävellen tai liftaten. Hän lähti liikkeelle vuonna 2002 asuen kesät ja talvet taivasalla. Hänen leiripaikkojaan olivat huoltoasemien lähistöt ja teiden pientareet. Vaikka hänelle tarjottiin apua ja asuntoa, hän pysyi kodittomana lähes elämänsä loppuun asti. Kiviharju kuoli Sysmässä 2021. Yksinäinen naiskulkuri herätti aina huomiota siellä, missä liikkui. Mistä hän tuli ja minne meni? Mitä hän laukuissaan kuljetti? Miksi hän lähti taipaleelleen? Salaperäisen kulkijan matkanteko kiinnosti ihmisiä, mutta itse hän pysyi vaitonaisena elämänsä vaiheista. Uutuuskirja tuo selkoa Laukku-Leenan matkantekoon pitkin Suomen maanteitä.
