Nach der geltenden Gesetzgebung haben Menschen mit sonderp dagogischem F rderbedarf (SEN), unabh ngig davon, ob sie eine Behinderung oder ein ASD haben, das Recht auf eine qualitativ hochwertige Bildung und m ssen zusammen mit anderen Sch lern in den Rahmen der normalen Schule integriert werden. In den schwerwiegendsten F llen ist eine der Bedingungen, die als notwendig erachtet werden, die Zuweisung eines therapeutischen Beraters (TA) in den schulischen Kontext, eine Ma nahme, die sich auf dem schmalen Grat zwischen Inklusion und Ausgrenzung bewegt. Dieses Buch zielt darauf ab, einige der Vorstellungen der OT von ihrer Arbeit im schulischen Kontext zu enth llen und zu zeigen, wie sehr diese Erfahrung das Leben derjenigen pr gt, die f r diese Rolle in den schulischen Kontext berwiesen werden, indem sie als transformative Erfahrung sowohl beruflich als auch pers nlich gestaltet wird, was die Sonderp dagogik zu einem m glichen Bereich f r zuk nftige Arbeit macht. The successful implementation of the principle of inclusion requires a structure to cater for its peculiarities. According to current legislation, people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), whether they have a disability or ASD, have the right to quality education and must be included in the context of ordinary schools, along with other pupils. In the most serious cases, one of the conditions considered necessary is the referral of a therapeutic counsellor (TA) to the school context, an action that straddles a fine line between inclusion and exclusion. As such, this book aims to unveil some of the OT's conceptions of their work in the school context, showing how much this experience marks the lives of those referred for this role in the school context, configuring it as a transformative experience both professionally and personally, making Special Education a possible area for future work. It also shows that the effectiveness of the TAs' work is closely related to the effective involvement of all those involved in the educational act in favour of the learning and development of the student being monitored.

Selon la l gislation en vigueur, les personnes besoins ducatifs particuliers (SEN), qu'elles soient atteintes d'un handicap ou de TSA, ont droit une ducation de qualit et doivent tre incluses dans le contexte des coles ordinaires, au m me titre que les autres l ves. Dans les cas les plus graves, l'une des conditions jug es n cessaires est l'orientation d'un conseiller th rapeutique (CT) vers le contexte scolaire, une action qui se situe cheval entre l'inclusion et l'exclusion. Nei casi pi gravi, una delle condizioni considerate necessarie l'invio di un consulente terapeutico (TA) nel contesto scolastico, un'azione che si colloca a cavallo tra inclusione ed esclusione. Questo libro si propone di svelare alcune concezioni degli OT sul loro lavoro nel contesto scolastico, mostrando quanto questa esperienza segni la vita di coloro che vengono indirizzati a questo ruolo nel contesto scolastico, configurandola come un'esperienza trasformativa sia dal punto di vista professionale che personale, rendendo l'Educazione Speciale un possibile ambito di lavoro futuro. This open access book, originally published in Portuguese in 1988 and now available in English for the first time, describes the Brazilian educator, Antonio Leal's, experiences teaching so-called “unteachable” children in Rio de Janeiro’s favelas. A Voice for Maria Favela tells the story of how Leal considers what the children bring to the class, gradually engaging them in developing a narrative about Maria Favela, a single mother and housemaid. Leal uses the sounds within the story to draw out the students’ abilities to see enunciation and articulation as a process of becoming literatized. A contemporary and admirer of Paulo Freire, Leal nevertheless recognised that his students’ needs could not be theorized along Freirean lines of oppressor/oppressed. He devised an emancipatory approach that is more focussed on the individual child and their capacity for self-expression than those often found in critical pedagogy. The book puts forward a unique type of radical pedagogy and philosophy of education, developed through direct classroom observation. The book includes a substantial introduction written by the translator Alexis Gibbs (University of Winchester, UK) and preface by Inny Accioly (Fluminense Federal University, Brazil).
