German is a language which has received a lot of attention in linguistics, and data from German had a substantial in?uence on the formation of linguistic theory. The in?uence this language had so far on psycholinguistics and on s- tactic processing in particular is much more limited, although the last 10 years have seen a growing interest in psycholinguistic investigations of German. The present monograph will build on earlier work and develop it further toward an account of syntactic comprehension on the basis of theoretical as well as - perimental investigations. The verb-?nal nature, the free order of constituents, and the morphological Case system of German offer a rich domain for exp- rations which will be shown to reshape our knowledge about human sentence processing in general. Much of the research which led to this monograph has been carried out at theFriedrichSchiller UniversityJenaandhasbeenconcluded atKonstanzU- versity. Our research has been supported between 1997 and 2005 by grant Ba 1178/4 of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) under the title L- guage Comprehension and Variable Word Order - Syntactic and Extrasyntactic Factors in Processing German Sentences. Die Kunstlersozialversicherung nimmt eine Sonderstellung im System der sozialen Sicherung der Bundesrepublik Deutschland ein. Selbststandige Kunstler und Publizisten mussen - vergleichbar mit abhangig beschaftigten Personen - lediglich die Halfte der zur Finanzierung erforderlichen Mittel durch eigene Beitrage aufbringen. Der Streit um die Finanzierung entzundet sich vor allem an der von Vermarktern und Verwertern kunstlerischer und publizistischer Werke zu zahlenden Kunstlersozialabgabe. Das Bundesverfassungsgericht halt die Kunstlersozialabgabe in seiner Entscheidung vom 08.04.1987 zwar mit dem Verfassungs- und Sozialversicherungsrecht der Bundesrepublik Deutschland fur vereinbar. Zwischenzeitlich werfen aber vor allem das autonome und das internationale sozialrechtliche Kollisionsrecht Fragen im Zusammenhang mit der Einbeziehung sogenannter Auslandshonorare in die Bemessungsgrundlage der Kunstlersozialabgabe auf. Dieser Problembereich bildet den Hintergrund dieser Untersuchung, wobei die Grundzuge des Kunstlersozialversicherungsgesetzes ebenso dargestellt werden wie die einschlagige Rechtsprechung und die rechtswissenschaftliche Diskussion. Schliesslich werden rechtstheoretische, aber auch praktische Handlungsoptionen zur Vermeidung der nach Auffassung des Autors rechtswidrigen Behandlung der Auslandshonorare aufgezeigt.

This collection features four peer-reviewed literature reviews on plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria in agriculture.The first chapter considers the use of plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) as plant biostimulants in agriculture. It considers the benefits of PGPR, such as their ability to promote plant growth and productivity under both normal and abiotic-stressed induced environments. The chapter also looks towards PGPR application as a sustainable and efficient method to enhance crop production.The second chapter reviews recent research on the use of PGPR as biofertilizers to enhance root function and improve nutrient uptake, with emphasis on their effects on root architecture, metabolism and adaptation to abiotic stress.The third chapter explores the use of microbial bio-effectors and their ability to optimise the mineral nutrition of agricultural crops. The chapter also reviews the wealth of research on the mechanism of action, applications and efficacy of key plant growth-promoting microorganisms (PGPMs).The final chapter reviews the use of plant growth-promoting bacteria (PGPB) as a biocontrol agent against invertebrate pests. The chapter analyses the effects of PGPB species against these pest types and enlists a case study on the PGPB species Pseudomonas protegens to further demonstrate this.
