The material compiled in this volume brings together an edition of intergovernmental documents that survey the rationale for South-South cooperation, its scope, modalities, and strategic role and support mechanisms with the means of implementation as articulated in various outcome documents issued by the Group of 77 since its establishment in 1964. This volume, which is intended to bring the Group's activities to a wider audience, is divided into the following chapters: BLChapter I provides an overview of the major documents related to the genesis of the Group of 77. BLChapter II contains the final agreements and outcomes of major meetings of the Group of 77 on Economic Cooperation among Developing Countries (ECDC). BLChapter III presents the final documents of the sessions of the Intergovernmental Follow up and Coordination Committee on Economic Cooperation among Developing Countries (IFCC) held within the framework of the Caracas Programme of Action on Economic Cooperation among Developing Countries. BLChapter IV consists of final reports of the G-77 Sectoral Review Meetings in various fields of cooperation. BLChapters V and VI focus on two major mechanisms of South-South cooperation, namely the Global System of Trade Preferences among Developing Countries (GSTP) and the Perez-Guerrero Trust Fund on Economic and Technical Cooperation among Developing Countries (PGTF). BLFinally, chapter VII draws excerpts on South-South cooperation from the outcome documents of the G-77 South Summits, Ministerial Meetings, and Chapters' Meetings, including the draft resolutions and decisions submitted by the Group of 77 in the General Assembly of the United Nations. Two annexes are included: Annex I pertains to the chronology of meetings of the Group of 77 on South-South cooperation covered in this volume, while Annex II lists the Member States of the Group of 77 as of June 2007.

This open access book presents work collected through the Liquefaction Experiments and Analysis Projects (LEAP) in 2017. It addresses the repeatability, variability, and sensitivity of lateral spreading observed in twenty-four centrifuge model tests on mildly sloping liquefiable sand. The centrifuge tests were conducted at nine different centrifuge facilities around the world. For the first time, a sufficient number of experiments were conducted to enable assessment of variability of centrifuge test results. The experimental data provided a unique basis for assessing the capabilities of twelve different simulation platforms for numerical simulation of soil liquefaction. The results of the experiments and the numerical simulations are presented and discussed in papers submitted by the project participants. The work presented in this book was followed by LEAP-Asia that included assessment of a generalized scaling law and culminated in a workshop in Osaka, Japan in March 2019. LEAP-2020, ongoing at the time of printing, is addressing the validation of soil-structure interaction analyses of retaining walls involving a liquefiable soil. A workshop is planned at RPI, USA in 2020. This work was published by Saint Philip Street Press pursuant to a Creative Commons license permitting commercial use. The development of computer software for nonlinear control systems has provided many benefits for teaching, research, and the development of control systems design. A Symbolic MATLAB Based function for finding the feedback linearization and sliding mode controllers are developed and tested using several examples. A simple method for finding the approximate sliding mode controller parameters is introduced Where the program used to construct the nonlinear controller uses symbolic computations; such that the user should provide the program with the necessary functions f(x), g(x) and h(x) using the symbolic library.

Hybrid Systems-in-Foil (HySiF) is a concept that extends the potential of conventional More-than-More Systems-in/on-Package (SiPs and SoPs) to the flexible electronics world. In HySiF, an economical implementation of flexible electronic systems is possible by integrating a minimum number of embedded silicon chips and a maximum number of on-foil components. Here, the complementary characteristics of CMOS SoCs and larger area organic and printed electronics are combined in a HySiF-compatible polymeric substrate. Within the HySiF scope, the fabrication process steps and the integration design rules with all the accompanying boundary conditions concerning material compatibility, surface properties, and thermal budget, are defined. This Element serves as an introduction to the HySiF concept. A summary of recent ultra-thin chip fabrication and flexible packaging techniques is provided. Several bendable electronic components are presented demonstrating the benefits of HySiF. Finally, prototypes of flexible wireless sensor systems that adopt the HySiF concept are demonstrated.

In Fundamentalism and Secularization, Egyptian philosopher Mourad Wahba traces the historical origins of fundamentalism and secularization as ideas and practices in order to theorize their symbiotic relationship, and how it is impacted by global capitalism and, more recently, postmodernism.
