Carrie Ralston is young, rich, and successful. Her path crosses that of Eben Christopher, a global wanderer, who is none of those things. Their relationship grows as her career begins to change. As she faces the disintegration of the world she has counted on, Carrie is forced into introspection about her life and the true place of Eben within it. Sometimes humorous, often poignant and with a hint of mysticism, this story follows one woman and her discovery of what is meaningful, what is necessary, and what is true to the self. ?Carrie returned the smile and watched him disappear up the stairs to the bar. She swiveled in her chair toward the ocean and brought her knees up under her chin, her legs encircled in her arms. She gazed into the gray nothingness beyond, where the separation between sea and sky could no longer be found, and began to review the day. What came most to mind was Eben asking, ?Would it be all right Carrie knew she had faced problems before - it had always been part of the thrill. She had plenty of energy to do battle. She had full confidence in herself and in her ability to succeed over the likes of Hendreik or Borland. But for the very first time, to the extent of her ability to perceive it, she wasn't sure she wanted to try.?
Dramatic Testimonies of Near-death Experiences and VisionsVoices from the Edge of Eternity is a compilation of the words and experiences of people both famous and obscure just before their deaths. Young and old, great and small, saint and sinner--these testimonies confirm the biblical doctrines of life after death, judgment for the nonbeliever, and eternal life for those who have accepted Christ as Savior. Included are the experiences of a formidable array of witnesses, such as Martin Luther, Voltaire, John Wesley, Joan of Arc, Thomas Paine, Charles Darwin, Queen Elizabeth I, John Calvin, Napoleon Bonaparte, Peter the Great, and many more. The agreement among the accounts is remarkable in this fascinating collection of thoughts and experiences that shed light on the life that awaits us after death.
Synopsis: A Win-Win Society and world creates a win-win between feminine and masculine energies and between Gaia and humanity. Through an embodied spirituality grounded in reverence, friendship and a 6th sense of perception, humanity can imagine, co-create and evolve a new social contract and state: a Win-Win Society. This win-win ideology is a 'wins-dom' philosophy where women and men, winners and losers share in the fruits of society's wealth, infrastructure and technological development while maintaining the health and well-being of ecosystems and the biosphere. Ultimately, to evolve one cosmic mind, heart, and love in this new age of spirituality is to adapt an embodied grounded spirituality with an inter-being sense of self and reality where the personal meets the social and the local meets the global. In other words, instead of looking at individuals as separate people let us see ourselves as global villagers, as connected inter-beings. In order to survive this period of global warming, climate catastrophes and ecocide, humanity urgently needs to break from the soulless modern world of materialism and separation and evolve love.Autobiography: John Myers Childers is an inter-being global villager, Zen meditator, yoga therapist, gardener, lover of life and the author of A Yoga Pill For Every Ill: Therapeutic Hatha Yoga. He lives in San Pedro, California with his wife Cindy.

A landmark examination of the art and artists inspired by American dance from 1830 to 1960 As an enduring wellspring of creativity for many artists throughout history, dance has provided a visual language to express such themes as the bonds of community, the allure of the exotic, and the pleasures of the body. This book is the first major investigation of the visual arts related to American dance, offering an unprecedented, interdisciplinary overview of dance-inspired works from 1830 to 1960. Fourteen essays by renowned historians of art and dance analyze the ways dance influenced many of America’s most prominent artists, including George Caleb Bingham, William Sidney Mount, Winslow Homer, John Singer Sargent, Cecilia Beaux, Isamu Noguchi, Aaron Douglas, Malvina Hoffman, Edward Steichen, Arthur Davies, William Johnson, and Joseph Cornell. The artists did not merely represent dance, they were inspired to think about how Americans move, present themselves to one another, and experience time. Their artwork, in turn, affords insights into the cultural, social, and political moments in which it was created. For some artists, dance informed even the way they applied paint to canvas, carved a sculpture, or framed a photograph. Richly illustrated, the book includes depictions of Irish-American jigs, African-American cakewalkers, and Spanish-American fandangos, among others, and demonstrates how dance offers a means for communicating through an aesthetic, static form. Prince of the Pharisees is a raucous social satire on the current state of politics, religion, and sex in this country. The ensemble cast of characters includes the reigning queen of family values, a brassy black lesbian journalist, a charismatic conservative U.S. senator determined to be the Republican presidential nominee and a lonely drag queen searching for his biological family. Their lives intertwine in the days leading up to the Republican convention in 2012 with tragi-comic consequences.Disappointed by wedge politics used to sow hate, author John Myers has put into words a dream that came to him in the final days before the 2004 election. An active volunteer in Barack Obama's U.S. Senate campaign, Myers served as Chairman of the campaign's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Committee.Long before Sarah Palin used her Down Syndrome child as a political prop, long before John McCain attempted to ride his POW experience into the White House, long before Idaho Senator Larry Craig got caught cruising an airport men's room, and long before the religious right stormed Washington to protest George Bush's successor, John Myers brought to life a vivid tale that eerily foresaw the dark rumbling forces that threaten to destroy the social fabric of this nation.

But when an invitation arrives from the Surface, Earth's largest and most secretive anti-UnEarth organization, the loner professor is pulled into a hidden world she never knew had been operating in the shadows for centuries. As her relationship with the group's enigmatic leader, Aluqa Morinnean, deepens, Leigh sees her long-sought revenge slowly taking shape. But to claim it, she'll have to decide how much of her humanity she's willing to sacrifice in the process.
