This work is a cross-disciplinary study of Israel's first 'capital city' from topographical, archaeological, historical, and literary perspectives. Challenging William F. Albright's claim that the ancient city is to be identified with Tell el-Ful, the book develops the case for a location instead at modern Jeba, 9 km north-east of Jerusalem, a site-change that bears important consequences for several scholarly theories relating to Gibeah. Among these are the inquest into the historicity and literary composition of the story of the 'Outrage of Gibeah' (Judg. 19-21) and the origins and nature of Saul's kingship (1 Sam. 9-15). Understanding one another can eliminate intimidation and create a more favorable climate. How we choose to deal with one another can and should be constantly improved. Because we choose how to behave, we do more than respond mindlessly to stimuli, we help create the reality that shapes our relationships. Our future choices are limited by the nature of our relationship to the other person and the intensity of another's desire or need to maintain the relationship. People will always stereotype attorneys. I don't believe that the contents of this book will change the way attorneys are viewed. This book is just a start to show some true personality traits of the litigator. The litigator is not overly concerned with power, likes their status but do not see themselves as the center of attention, are not control freaks, like to win cases and make money, want respect for their ability but most importantly, treat others with respect and a sense of decency.

Robert Emmet (1778-1803) was one of the most romantic of all Irish revolutionaries. He was the youngest son of Ireland’s state physician and was educated privately at Trinity College Dublin. Like many young people in the early 1790s, he was caught up in the fervour of the French Revolution. In the revolutionary year of 1798, when three different insurrections broke out in Ireland, he was expelled from Trinity College, thus ending his prospects of a professional career. He went to the Continent where he met both Napoleon and Talleyrand and returned to Dublin where he organised and led the doomed insurrection of May 1803. No foreign help came. There were probably spies in the camp, and Emmet’s rising was quickly crushed. He was tried and executed, but not before making a speech from the dock which has resonated through subsequent Irish history. Romantic, impulsive and doomed: Emmet is one of the tragic heroes of the Irish past. ‘Geoghegan traces the details of his military preparations which involved much study, and then takes us through their rapid unravelling.
