Why has the most innovative of species become so dangerous? The answer, suggests Peter Russell, lies in humanity's accelerating pace of development. He shows how innovation breeds further innovation-a positive feedback loop that leads to exponentially increasing rates of change. But our minds cannot grasp the full implications of exponential growth. This creates a blind spot on the future. We think more in terms of linear change rather than exponential change. However fast the pace of change may be today, it will be much faster in the years to come, bringing ever more rapid scientific and technological advances. But ever-accelerating change also creates stress on the systems involved-personal, social, and planetary. The greater the pace of change, the greater the stress and the more likely systemic breakdown. We are heading into a future with technology beyond our dreams, but in a world that is breaking at the seams.Russell proposes there is no blame for this. Spiraling rates of development, with all their consequences, positive and negative, are the inevitable fate of any intelligent, technologically-empowered species. How do we live with exponential change? How can we prepare for a world that is becoming increasingly unpredictable? What does it mean for the future of humanity?

Déjalo IR: Relaja La Mente Y Descubre El Milagro de Tu Verdadera Naturaleza
Anyone who has practiced any of the planet's spiritual traditions will know that the key lies in letting go, but how to carry it out? In this original, sincere and practical guide, Peter Russell shows us that the things we don't cling to are often not tangible problems, but thoughts, emotions, interpretations, beliefs, or expectations; that is, they are not reality, they only exist in our mind. We can strip them of their power and release them, simply by making a small change of mind. Russell summarizes this relinquishing in a series of steps consisting of accepting, becoming aware of, acknowledging or befriending what we tend to avoid. This paradoxical practice generates peace of mind, new perspectives, and wisdom in action. In a turbulent time like ours, this is a tool available to everyone.

The Old Testament is written off by many people as being irrelevant for the modern believer and yet without it the New Testament makes no sense. It is full of essential information about the One creator God, how the creation came into being and the only way individuals and nations should relate to Him as explained in my other books. The Bible makes the fact very clear that the creator God, who of His own sovereign will related Himself to His chosen nation of Israel, is a hands on creator who not only created all that exists out of nothing, but also maintains its very existence. It also reveals that the soul and spirit of every man lives on after their physical death and their destination for eternity is also under His immediate control. The Old, or as I prefer to call it the First, Testament is packed full of personal and national examples of man's relationship with the creator God that provide those living with a guide as to how they should relate to Him and they ignore Him at their cost. This book focuses on the lives of the kings of Judah and Israel after the 10/2 split and seeks to explain where they went wrong within the personal, national and international sociopolitical environment at that time. It starts with the rules God laid down for future kings of Israel through Moses, the errors of Solomon that led to the split and the individual biographies of each king. It includes the shining example of the life of the prophet Elijah in amongst the Godlessness of the kings of Israel, the return of some of the Jews from exile in Babylon, the relationship of the surrounding nations to Judah and Israel, with a final chapter on The Future. There are plenty of references to the Second Testament throughout. The emphasis is on God's message to mankind and how He maintained the existence of Israel not for their sakes but for His great name's sake because of His determination to ensure His ultimate plan of eternal salvation would not be allowed to be disrupted. This is the unique total power of God in action in spite of the fickleness and rebelliousness of individuals who prefer to go their own way without realising that they are being manipulated by Satan and his demonic forces. The Lord God of Israel is the God of the impossible because not only did He out of nothing create all that is, He has designed into it a limit to its life when all that we see will be burned up. Have no doubt that God is in absolute control even though He has given mass certain freedoms. This book was a challenge o write and, according to others, makes compelling and instructive reading.

From Israel's suffering in Egypt to its miraculous release from slavery because of the plagues suffered by the Egyptians, from the first Passover which saved the Israelite first-born to the dramatic crossing of the Red Sea and the supply of food and water throughout their rebellious journey in the wilderness of the Sinai, the book of Exodus provides the believer with a front row seat of a time when God demonstrated His great power over powerful human forces to achieve His plan for His chosen people.Exodus is full of the testimony of those prepared, however reluctantly, to serve God and to be used of Him to do works of incredible daring against the most improbably odds. This book makes the account of the exodus of Israel from Egypt come alive, and identifies the lessons painfully learned by the people at that time that can be of great benefit to people living today, emphasizing as it does the power of God to rescue those overpowered with grief and suffering from the oppressive and powerful forces within the world. There is much speculation concerning many of the events contained within Exodus, which detract from all that God in His wisdom is seeking to teach people of every generation. Yet if this book is studied from the standpoint of it being God's word to mankind, the positive and life changing message contained within it has the potential to effectively transform the lives of individuals. Certainly that has been the experience of many who have read this book when it was first sent out around the world attached to emails. It was also translated into Spanish for South America and into Chinese.

The book of Numbers and the activities of the Israelites have much to teach the believer of today. Their refusal, even in the light of all the proof God gave them regarding His ability to help and guide them, to believe in Him is almost beyond belief.Moses did not have an easy time leading such a disparate group of rebellious and obstinate unbelieving individuals. Even his sister and brother challenged his God given authority, yet the narrative clearly illustrated just how onerous a responsibility it was.By putting oneself into that situation and trying to understand why the people were so obstinately awkward can be very instructive, particularly if we ask ourselves if we are doing the same thing today.

Laws provide society with stability and order, rules and regulations assist in helping commercial companies and public bodies function efficiently. To be a Christian requires an individual to obey God's laws that were designed to enable the believer to live a life worthy of the salvation God bought at such great cost. The Bible provides true believers with a book of rules, examples and instructions for life. Ignorance of the covenants and testaments He has been responsible for is no excuse because we will all face Christ on the great white throne when He judges each and every one of us according to those laws that He laid down from the beginning of the earth. This book provides the reader with an understanding of what God requires of them. It is an important book to read.
