Johan Jakob Reinberg (1823–1896) oli merkittävä valokuvauksen varhaisvaiheen edustaja, joka tunnetaan parhaiten ikonisista Turku-kuvistaan. Hän kokeili erilaisia tapoja ottaa valokuvia ja järjesti yleisölle avoimia esityksiä. Nämä kosmoraama- ja kalkkivalonäytökset olivat oman aikansa ”elokuvia”, kaiken kansan viihdykettä. Kaupunkinäkymien ohella Reinberg kuvasi valokuva-ateljeessaan muotokuvia 1800-luvun lopun turkulaisista. Hän hyödynsi uusimpia tekniikoita, kehitti menetelmiään tekemisen ja kokeilun kautta ja esimerkiksi väritti valokuvia maalaamalla. Valokuvauksen lisäksi Reinberg työskenteli litografina, taidemaalarina ja piirustuksenopettajana. Kiehtovana ryhmänä Reinbergin tuotannossa erottuvat aikakauden kansallisvaltioaatteeseen ja isänmaalliseen ideologiaan kytkeytyvät kansatieteelliset valokuvat sekä metsästysaiheet. Metsästysharrastuksen myötä Reinberg myös täytti eläimiä. Näistä tunnetuin on 1880-luvulla Varsinais-Suomessa lapsia tappanut susi, jonka Reinberg oli ostanut eläimen kaataneelta torpparilta. Täytettyä ”tappajasutta” sai käydä katsomassa maksua vastaan Reinbergin ateljeessa Turun Linnankadulla.

Reinberg is a pioneer of ecological building and solar architecture. Even before he set up his practice, he had been involved in numerous research projects on architecture and ecology. Since 1990, he has been managing the practice jointly with his wife Martha Enriquez Reinberg. The buildings benefit from the expertise the architect has gained through his research, and are characterized by an inherently designed sustainability that also carefully takes account of the needs of users and inhabitants. He completed numerous housing projects, refurbishments, public and corporate buildings to the maximum satisfaction of the users. His success is evidenced by prizes and teaching activities abroad and at home. His integrated design approach has created a specific architectural language that is evident in his buildings.

Riders for God takes us into a world generally inaccessible to outsiders, one situated at the crossroads of two seemingly incongruous realms: motorcycle gangs and Spirit-filled Christianity. Founded by a former biker and located in southern Indiana, the Unchained Gang is a group of former outlaw bikers, ex-convicts, and recovering addicts who are now born-again Christians. Although they have given up drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and violence they have kept their motorcycles--which they consider to be anointed--and use them as tools in their witness of the word of God as they understand it. The Unchained Gang is an outreach ministry, going into prisons and jails, biker rallies, and other places where people on the fringe are often ignored by other churches and the rest of society. Combining powerful photographic images with gang members' first-person testimonies, Rich Remsberg shows the ironic juxtaposition of tattoos, leather vests, and the iconography of the biker world with the Christian practices of Bible study, speaking in tongues, and praying at an altar. He explores the lives of men and women who have redirected the extreme nature of their former ways. Through their own powerful stories, they explain how the addictions and uncontrollable violence that once shaped their lives have given way to dramatic worship and zealous ministry. Showcasing American music and music making during the Great Depression, Hard Luck Blues presents more than two hundred photographs created by the New Deal's Farm Security Administration photography program. With an appreciation for the amateur and the local, FSA photographers depicted a range of musicians sharing the regular music of everyday life, from informal songs in migrant work camps, farmers' homes, barn dances, and on street corners to organized performances at church revivals, dance halls, and community festivals. Captured across the nation from the northeast to the southwest, the images document the last generation of musicians who learned to play without the influence of recorded sound, as well as some of the pioneers of Chicago's R & B scene and the first years of amplified instruments. The best visual representation of American roots music performance during the Depression era, Hard Luck Blues features photographs by Jack Delano, Dorothea Lange, Russell Lee, Arthur Rothstein, Ben Shahn, Marion Post Wolcott, and others. Photographer and image researcher Rich Remsberg breathes life into the images by providing contextual details about the persons and events captured, in some cases drawing on interviews with the photographers' subjects. Also included are a foreword by author Nicholas Dawidoff and an afterword by music historian Henry Sapoznik. Published in association with the Library of Congress.
