A Journey Through the Revelation to John
The book of Revelation is almost certainly the most controversial book of the Bible. Some believe the prophesies contained in the book can never be understood; they are a mystery that cannot be revealed and the reading of Revelation is therefore a waste of time. Many believe that the book tells of the coming tribulations that our generation or one of the succeeding ones will face, that the rapture will yet take place and that the millenium has not yet begun. Then there are those who fall in between the two extremes, saying that we are in the millenium, or that the rapture has already occurred; that the prophecies have all been fulfilled or that some have been and some are yet to be.

When one thinks of the sacrifice that Jesus made for mankind's salvation, the mind automatically goes to the cross on Calvary, His bloody face from the crown of thorns, His nail-pierced hands and feet, and His cut side from which flowed blood and water. We think of His burial tomb and the spices and fabric used to wrap Him, and we think of that glorious resurrection morning. These things are the center of the history of the world, the focus of all of history, and certainly the center of a Christian's life. But when we stop at the resurrection of Jesus in thinking of His sacrifice, we stop far too short. This book's purpose is to open the readers eyes not only to the multitude of sacrifices that Jesus made, but to the ultimate sacrifice that is almost always overlooked with its life-changing power.

Only four men with the name Cornell came to America in the 1600's and only three in the 1700's. When I asked my father where the name comes from he had no idea. Little did we know we are descended from Prince Richard, Earl of Cornwall, the son of King John.If you have an interest in ancestry or just history in general you will enjoy this summary of one families journey through time from the first man in the bible to American Cornell's today. The author shows you how she found it using the internet.Interesting and fun to read.

In Perogies and Politics, Rhonda Hinther explores the twentieth-century history of the Ukrainian left in Canada from the standpoint of the women, men, and children who formed and fostered it. For twentieth-century leftist Ukrainians, culture and politics were inextricably linked. The interaction of Ukrainian socio-cultural identity with Marxist-Leninism resulted in one of the most dynamic national working-class movements Canada has ever known. The Ukrainian left’s success lay in its ability to meet the needs of and speak in meaningful, respectful, and empowering ways to its supporters’ experiences and interests as individuals and as members of a distinct immigrant working-class community. This offered to Ukrainians a radical social, cultural, and political alternative to the fledgling Ukrainian churches and right-wing Ukrainian nationalist movements. Hinther’s colourful and in-depth work reveals how left-wing Ukrainians were affected by changing social, economic, and political forces and how they in turn responded to and challenged these forces.
