The development of U.S. Army nuclear doctrine—policies, plans, procedures, tactics, and techniques—since World War II, its impact on Army forces, and its role in future wars is the subject of this policy-oriented analysis. The definition of Army nuclear doctrine advanced by the author clearly implies a distinction between policy for the employment of nuclear weapons as determined by the president and the role adduced by the Army. Dr. Rose suggests that developments—both nuclear and conventional—in U.S. Army tactical doctrine have been more responsive to political preferences held by national authorities than to the real nature of the potential threat and rigors of the nuclear battlefield. Further, he argues that the type of war preparations favored by U.S. political authorities over the last fifteen years and the type of war for which the Soviet Union is preparing differ markedly, making the U.S. Army poorly prepared for a major war.

Smart home technology (SHT), an Internet of Things (IoT) application, is a growing industry centered on the remote control of devices and networks that offers convenience, cost savings, energy efficiency, and improved quality of life. However, in the face of mounting evidence, several federal agencies and security experts have voiced concerns about the susceptibility of these networked devices to cyber-attacks. They are also susceptible to secure shell (SSH) brute force attacks, often followed by the propagation of malware through botnets. Recently, machine learning (ML) algorithms have been deployed for anomaly detection based on similarities and trends in network traffic. Thus, ML algorithms may be used to develop prediction models for detecting network attacks automatically. This study offers a comprehensive examination of the use of ML techniques to detect these two prevalent SHT network attacks, SSH brute force and botnet attacks.

Sie werden zunehmend im Rahmen von Einstellungsuntersuchungen an Arbeitnehmern durchgefuhrt. Dabei verscharfen sie das bisher weitestgehend ungeloste rechtliche Problem der Zulassigkeit solcher Einstellungsuntersuchungen. Die vorliegende Untersuchung qualifiziert die Durchfuhrung von Genomanalysen an Arbeitnehmern vor der Einstellung als eine spezielle Form der Ausubung des Fragerechts des Arbeitgebers nach der genetischen Veranlagung des Arbeitnehmers. Sie limitiert ihre Zulassigkeit durch die Losung der Kollision zwischen diesem Fragerecht des Arbeitgebers und der Auskunftspflicht des Arbeitnehmers uber seine genetische Veranlagung."
