Die Hauptquelle f r die Bodenverschmutzung in der Welt sind anthropogene Aktivit ten. Speziell im Bergbau ist die Entsorgung von Abraum eine gef hrliche T tigkeit, die h ufig mit chemischen Verarbeitungsr ckst nden und hohen Metallkonzentrationen verbunden ist. In vielen F llen werden die Abraumhalden in gro en Teichen abgelagert, wo sie mit Hilfe von D mmen, den so genannten Tailings Dams, konserviert werden. Der Einsturz von Absetzteichen kann schwerwiegende Auswirkungen auf die Umwelt, die menschliche Gesundheit und die Sicherheit haben. In den letzten Jahren wurde im Falle von Gold- und Silberminen vorgeschlagen, das Auslaugungsmittel Zyanid (CN-) durch weniger toxische Verbindungen wie Thiocyanat (SCN-) und Thioharnstoff (TSN) zu ersetzen. Bisher wurden jedoch keine Studien ber die Bodenkontamination mit diesen Verbindungen durchgef hrt. Mit der vorliegenden Arbeit soll ein Beitrag zu den wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen in diesem wichtigen Bereich geleistet werden.
